I’m Proud to announce my commitment to Springfield College! This year tested me in ways I could have never expected. Tearing my ACL was one of the toughest challenges I’ve faced, with long rehab days and moments of doubt. But I never lost sight of my goals or my love for the game. Thank you to all of my coaches who believed in me and supported me through every step of this journey, especially during my injury. Thank you to all my trainers over these years you guys always knew how to push me to higher levels and preform accomplishments that I never thought I could achieve. And thank you to the Springfield coaching staff for trusting me and giving me this opportunity. Grateful for everyone who’s been in my corner and thrilled to be joining the Brotherhood! When I was little, watching this team as I grew up, I always had one thought, one day it’ll be my turn. This year might not have been as special as I had hoped, but being the captain of this team was truly an honor. I’ve always loved this team and this group and I’m sorry I couldn’t have a stronger impact on how this year ended. But I wanted to say one thing: Every moment wearing that jersey means something. The wins, the losses, the practices in the pouring rain, they all build something bigger than just football. To the next guys who put on that black and gold, don’t take a single rep for granted. Play for each other, play for the name across your chest, and leave it better than you found it. And for the last time… it’s Maio Time. Captain #79 signing off. by @jon.maio
