Been an absolute pleasure all this week up in Scotland playing sax with @northernliveuk - thanks a lot for having me onboard! 🎷 🎶

Ready for a lay down now! 😴 💤 by @jon.melville

Take 2 of the original I posted the 1st half of recently - finished writing it now so here’s the whole piece (can almost play it all!) 🎹 🎶 by @jon.melville

I’ve been learning this piece La Valse D’Amelie by @yanntiersen (from the film Amélie) because I really love the music, but this last section has been beasting me a bit! It’s like trying to play a tongue twister with your fingers (or something like that 😆). Far from perfect and excuse the lack of dynamics (and slow tempo/squeaky pedal) but getting there.

At this point I’d just practised this section for about half an hour and still couldn’t play it 🤦🏻‍♂️ 🤣 🎹 by @jon.melville

Was a lot of fun a few weeks back in Belgium at Gentsefeesten 🇧🇪

Only just got round to posting these 📸 by @jon.melville

Been a pleasure playing keys with @girlpowerliveshow recently 🎹 Here’s a clip of “Hold On” by Wilson Phillips from our show in Redditch - I’ve mixed the piano considerably louder than I usually would and included click/cues as I wanted to demonstrate a little better what we’re playing to and what I hear in my in-ears on a live show 🎶

Vocals - @alexandradarbymusic @gemmasamuelssings @hayleybrookes10 @xaineogradyx
Guitar - @benwalker5150
Piano - me
Bass - @christianggarland
Drums/MD - @deanhendydrums

Recorded by @henhackettaudio by @jon.melville

This melody came into my head earlier today as I was walking down the stairs to my piano (with the intention of writing some piano music!) so thought I would try and develop it.

Quite like it I think - let me know if I should finish it! 🎹 🎶 by @jon.melville

We were delighted to discover last night that our recently released original “Flowers” has been selected for BBC Introducing in Leeds & Sheffield! 🌹

Thanks so much to Emily Pilbeam & Christian Carlisle for the support, especially to Emily who selected our track 😊

Here’s a recording from the show - we’ve cut it down to 3 mins (for Insta purposes) but if you’d like to listen to the whole thing the show will be played again tomorrow (Saturday) evening at 8pm on both BBC Radio Leeds and Radio Sheffield 👌🏻 by @jon.melville

Good start to the day 🥚 🥑 🍅 by @jon.melville

Was loads of fun joining @renegadebrassband last week on their “The Rules of the Game” album launch shows on Thursday in Leeds @belgravemusichall and Friday in Sheffield @corpsheffield - super tight band and a lovely hang! 🎷 🎶

Thanks for having me!

A few snaps with my 🎷 from another shoot with @geoff.photos from a while back - only just got round to posting them!

Thanks again for the pics Geoff! 📸 by @jon.melville

Absolutely lovely birthday meal down at Sukhothai last night with this quality bunch of folks 👌🏻 by @jon.melville

It was a pleasure to play keys on and MD #thelastdaysofdisco show for the 1st time last Monday down in Hornchurch - here’s my view from soundcheck and also during the show, from the back-left of the stage as opposed to my usual position front-right in the brass section on the alto/bari chair! 🪩 🎶

Thanks to the guys at @queenstheatrehornchurch for looking after us and making us feel so welcome, as they always do! 👌🏻 by @jon.melville
