We are so proud and and honoured that our documentary „wer wenn nicht du“ (if not you) will be screened at two upcoming international filmfestivals:

🇬🇧at the @bigsyn_film_festival in London
🇦🇿and at @idffdokubaku in Baku

„If not you“ tells the story of a special father-son relationship. Jannis learns from his father Karl, that he wants to block highways with a group of climate change activists called „The Last Generation“. This is a difficult situation for Jannis. Karl has tested the limits of civil disobedience in various protests of the environmental movement and he has been in prison several times in his life. Jannis is trying to take care of his father. At the same time, he seeks to find his own path in life and his own perspective on climate action.

The impacts of climate change are felt more than ever - heat-related deaths, extreme weather and water scarcity all around the world. We hope that this documentary contributes to the discussion that we need to have on how to take action. In doing so, the film breaks with stereotypical roles of the young and the old generation.

So viele Zugreisen, Zeit in (fensterlosen) und unglaublich gemütlichen Schnitträumen. Ganz viel Ausprobieren, scheitern, alles in Frage stellen, nochmal doller ausprobieren, (Skurrile) und wertvolle Allianzen mit Kamera- und IT-Menschen schmieden, endloses Stöbern nach dem richtigen Archivmaterial und mega schöne und anstrengende Drehtage mit den besten Leuten.
Unsere Doku „Wer wenn nicht du“– über eine besondere Vater- Sohn Beziehung inmitten der Klimakrise ist nach drei Jahren endlich „fertig“ (wenn man das überhaupt jemals sagen kann)
und eröffnet morgen das Greenmotions Filmfestival in Freiburg.
Danke, dass wir das gemeinsam durchgezogen haben, @jannisnie, Karl, @charlotteswein @jona.srl & @vincent_productions – und vor allem Jannis und Karl, für so viel Vertrauen.
