So it would be remiss of @davesbundybar 🥃 not to acknowledge an amazing experience that I had at the @gympiemusicmuster 🤠 with @wescarrmusic 🎶🤠✌️

You see I have always wanted to see @wescarrmusic perform since he won Australian Idol way back in 2008.

I had always wondered what had become of @wescarrmusic 🤠🎶 and was surprised to find out that he had moved to Nashville, USA 🇺🇸 to chase his dream.

What I didn’t know is that @wescarrmusic had changed his name to Wes Dean (his middle name).

Wes changed his stage name to break away from the public perception, and “tainted” character created by his win on Australian Idol in 2008.

After winning Australian Idol, Wes felt the public had a fixed perception of him that did not reflect his true personality.

Wes felt frustrated by commercial pressures, and wanted to return to his organic, independent roots as a singer-songwriter without being judged by his reality TV past.

Well @wescarrmusic hit the @gympiemusicmuster 🤠 with a bang, and was one of the best acts I saw at the @gympiemusicmuster 🤠

During the show @wescarrmusic beautiful 😍 wife Charlotte was handing out copies of his vinyl album, titled Crazy Hearts, which I was extremely grateful for.

During his performance @wescarrmusic informed the crowd that his drummer 🥁 was none other than the legend himself @jonacoghill from @powderfinger_bandofficial 1️⃣ of my all time favourite bands, I felt so shocked, and overwhelmed with excitement, and couldn’t believe this was happening.

Anyway after the show I went down to see if I could grab a pic with @wescarrmusic and @jonacoghill and was shocked when @jonacoghill handed me his set list of his drumset 🥁

Thanks guys for entertaining me, and taking time for a pic, and for handing me the set list, it’s a memory that I’ll never forget from @gympiemusicmuster 🤠 2026.

And @gympiemusicmuster 🤠 please put @wescarrmusic on the main stage or the Crowbar in 2027, he deserves to have his music 🎶 played to a bigger crowd 🫶🤠

We’re honoured to be partnering with Lookout 07 to auction this incredible drum kit from Jon Coghill of Powderfinger.

This is a rare opportunity for Australian music fans to own a genuine piece of Powderfinger history. The kit was used during the recording and touring of Odyssey Number Five and Vulture Street, and was played by Jon from 1999 to 2008.

Jon is an ambassador for Lookout 07, a Queensland-based charity that supports young people aged 12 to 25 by providing a safe and inclusive environment where they can access support, build confidence, and connect with others.

Best of all, all of the proceeds from the sale of the drum kit will be donated to Lookout 07, helping them continue their valuable work in the community.

Do you remember the teachers who changed your life?
Yesterday I caught up with my old drum teacher, @col_gillies, for the first time in 17 years. He’s 86, still playing, still teaching, and still telling brilliant stories.
Col taught me jazz, the Moeller stroke, and the importance of great hands. My other teacher, Rick Lloyd, taught me groove, feel, and Rock’n’roll.
Looking back, they gave me so much more than drum lessons. They helped shape the musician—and the person—I became.
Thank you both. I’ll always be grateful.

Phew! We pulled it off.

The gig was Rockin’ and the crowd was pumping at The Good Soil festival at @mapleton.pub yesterday.
