So stoked to announce the premiere of our documentary short ‘Arepas En Bici’! With only $60 left to his name at the onset of the pandemic, Chef Victor Aguilera (@chefaguilera) began cooking traditional Venezuelan food in his apartment and delivering it throughout San Francisco à la bicycle, sweat, and sheer will. In the age of seemingly lost dreams, we were drawn to Victor’s grit and boldness to do things his way. ‘Arepas’ is premiering at the San Francisco International Film Festival (@SFFILM) Doc Stories program later this month! Doc Stories is an amazing documentary program which features Oscar-winning docs year-in and year-out, located just miles from Victor’s kitchen. 🎥📍Screening October 20th, 1:30pm at the Vogue Theater — ticketing info in bio! A very special thanks to everyone who poured their love into this film over the past 3 years! Y’all are the absolute best. Three years ago we squeezed into Victor’s apartment to capture the magic of his Arepas, and chased him around San Francisco as he delivered those delicious morsels by bicycle. Later today we’ll screen the film for the first time publicly! Join us if you’re in SF. #DocumentaryFilm #FilmPremiere #FoodStories #SFFILM #SFFILMFestival #SFFILMMakers #SFFILMEducation #SeeitallatSFFILM by @jonah.moshammer
Enjoy some of our favorite stills from ‘Arepas En Bici’! 🚲 🫓🧑‍🍳 Described by @sffilm as: “A sumptuous culinary presentation and pulse-pounding ride with Victor Aguilera (@chefaguilera), a Venezuelan chef who cycles through San Francisco delivering his arepas while weaving through memories of his immigrant experience.” Tap the link in bio for tickets to our premiere this Sunday Oct 20th, 1:30pm at the Vogue Theater.
