Southbound - episode 1 trailer is officially live!

Last year we set out on the biggest adventure of our lives - riding off road motorcycles from LA to the southern tip of South America. In this first leg - we ride from LA through Mexico to the border of Guatemala.

Words can’t describe how excited @jonah_levine and I are to finally share this. On April 20th we’re having a premier of the full film in New York City - so if you’re around and want to come let us know!

So stoked to be releasing my new aerial reel - It was so much fun walking down memory lane making this video. I’m so grateful to have worked on all these awesome projects around the world this past year with so many incredible people - it’s so funny to me that flying these robots has helped connect me with all of them and see our planet from all sides, and I’m pumped to keep doing it.

The badass @ebutka set up this awesome shoot and had me and @loganlatulippe out to help. While I’m so happy and grateful I get to wake up every day and make videos for work, it’s real fun and refreshing making art just for the hell of it - pumped for the next one.

➡️Frames from 5 weeks in South America ➡️

A month ago @jesse.evers @mcgee and I got back from our fourth Southbound trip, this time riding thousands of miles of mostly dirt roads from Peru to Uruguay, riding through Bolivia, Chile, and Argentina. It’s surreal that this winter when we fly back to the bikes it’ll be for the fifth year and final leg, completing our journey from LA to the bottom of Argentina.

The highs on these trips are so high and the lows can be extremely low, but the stillness and in between moments that I tried to capture in some of these photos l think are what I’ll remember the most. taken in South America by @jonah_levine

2 years ago when we set off on our motorcycle trip from LA to Argentina the place we were most excited to see was South America. It was this big, beautiful continent that none of us had spent any time in.

This year we rode almost 5000 miles through Colombia, Ecuador and Peru. We battled through landslides, rain, surging rivers, multiple cases of food poisoning and for myself - an injured shoulder. We saw huge 22,000 ft peaks, dry deserts, dense jungle, pine forests and honestly some landscapes that I can’t really even describe because they were so weird 😂

Huge shoutout to all the amazing people we met on this trip. From the gang at @donkeysunrise to the countless other random people we met that helped get us to where we needed to go - THANK YOU.

Yesterday, in Austin, Texas, we made history with the first fully-electric paramotor flown in the totality zone of an American solar eclipse 🌔🪂

As I watched the shadow of the moon move across the Earth, seeing day turn to night from high in the sky, I was reminded of just how much magic is constantly around us but only visible when we choose to look at the world with the right perspective.

Today is the day! Southbound 2 is officially out on YouTube.

Words cannot explain how excited we are to finally have this film out into the world. We spent a month filming and hundreds and hundreds of hours editing and finally seeing the finished product is pretty surreal.

This is the second episode in our series that follows our and @jesse.evers journey riding motorcycles from LA to the southern tip of South America. In this second leg we traverse the entirety of Central America from the Guatemala / Mexico border down to Panama City.

Southbound Episode 2 premiers in LA June 21st!

Two years ago we started the biggest adventure of our lives - riding off road motorcycles from LA all the way to the southern tip of South America, riding 1 month per year until we get there. In this second leg we ride from southern Mexico, through all of Central America to Panama.

Aerials from Burning Man

It was such an incredible time shooting the @titanicsend art car out in the desert with @orion_yorke and @cprdav. I came back to LA with mud and dust caked onto everything I own, and a massive smile on my face. Can’t wait for next year. taken in Burning Man by @jonah_levine

Exploring Norway was so damn fun. We split our time between Svalbard, way up in the arctic circle, and the fjords west of Oslo. The fjords were probably the most beautiful place I’ve ever been, and Svalbard was crazy and so interesting.

Svalbard facts:

1. Adorable chunky reindeer hang out directly in town.
2. You legally need a gun or flare gun to walk outside of town at all since there are so many polar bears.
3. Seeing people stumble back from the bars at 3am in completely broad daylight is hilarious (the sun doesn’t set for 4 months in the summer).
4. Every building is built on stilts, otherwise the heat from the house will melt the ground it sits on, destroying the foundation.
5. Swimming there is chilly.
6. It’s 78 degrees north – when we took a boat out to the sea ice, our guide told us we were among the 150 northernmost people on earth.
