Day 3 - Interviewing @lek_chailert at Elephant Nature Park, Chaing Mai🐘

My last full day at the park, getting to sit down with Lek and talk all things Elephants and conservation was amazing. Big shout out to Tony too for making the couple of days here run smoothly and to @elephantnaturepark and @trunksupofficial for having me! 📸

Asian Black Bear or Moon Bear (Ursus thibetanus)

Back in December I got to spend some time at @freethebears a non profit charity with a goal of rescuing Sun Bears, Moon Bears and Sloth Bears from bile farms, poachers, wildlife tourism and the pet trade.

Bear bile farming is a practice where bears are kept in small cages and are mutilated to extract bile from their gall bladder. The bile is then used in traditional medicines across various Asian countries.

Formed when a giant volcano collapsed millions of years ago, the Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera and one of Africa’s most remarkable wildlife havens. 🌍

Its unique landscape supports an incredible diversity of wildlife, making it one of the best places on Earth to witness species such as lions, elephants, black and White rhinos and countless others in their natural environment.

Thank you to @justineevans02 @sophiedarlingtondop @e.ranney and the rest of the team that worked on the incredible documentary series ‘Queens’ for getting me obsessed with this place! 🦁

The Serengeti is one of the most iconic wild places on Earth, and after years of seeing it in documentaries, it was surreal to finally experience it for myself.

From three cheetah brothers resting in the grasslands, to a pride of lions, a leopard pouncing on a Rock Hyrax, it’s safe say the Serengeti lived up to its name! 🦁🐆

And this was only day one! 📸

📍Tarangire National Park, Tanzania 🇹🇿

After driving from Arusha, we arrived at the gates to Tarangire, upon entering I was met with herds of Zebra, Antelope and Giraffe.

After watching some Zebra cross a river, we stumbled across a turtle crossing the road before find a large herd of Elephants.

An incredibly beautiful park teeming with wildlife!

World Chimpanzee Day 2026 🐵

We share 98.7% of our DNA with chimpanzees, making them our closest living relatives alongside bonobos. Yet despite that connection, they face increasing threats caused by humans.
Habitat loss, poaching and the illegal wildlife trade continue to drive wild chimpanzee populations into decline.

The illegal pet trade is an issue I’ve documented many times. To capture a single infant chimpanzee for sale, it’s common for multiple members of the troop to be killed. The surviving infant is then trafficked through criminal networks, often enduring unimaginable stress and suffering before reaching a buyer.

Every rescued chimpanzee has a story, but countless others never make it that far.

On this World Chimpanzee Day, it’s worth remembering that protecting chimpanzees means protecting the forests they call home, supporting the organisations working tirelessly to rescue and rehabilitate them, and refusing to support the illegal wildlife trade in any form.

Here’s to a future where our closest relatives can remain where they belong wild and free.

Day 2 - Filming at Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai. 🇹🇭🎥

The second day of my conservation project brings me to the famous Elephant nature park, I’ll be spending two days here filming and photographing the different Elephants and getting to know them! 🐘

Elephants of India 🐘🇮🇳

A photo can hide a lifetime of control behind the scenes. True ethical tourism does not involve riding, chaining, or forcing wild animals to perform for people.

Elephants are highly intelligent, emotional animals that form lifelong family bonds, communicate across long distances, and play a vital role in their ecosystems. Yet across parts of the wildlife tourism industry, many are still used for rides, performances, and tourist entertainment after enduring harsh training, isolation, and captivity.

A please I’ve spoken about all too often, known for their infamous Orangutan boxing show, this park still operates these shows to this day.

This individual is just one of many victims of these shows and the constant torment they face every single day.

This photo was taken at Sam Phran Elephant Ground & Zoo.

Wildlife parks like this operate everyday all throughout Thailand and often Elephants are at the centre of it.

These Elephants are forced to perform multiple daily shows for paying audiences. Between shows they are chained to the ground by their feet.
