Silbermedaille 🥈@deutscher_fotobuchpreisIch fühle mich sehr geehrt, dass mein Buch „Politik von Medienbildern“ auf dem @festivalfotografischerbilder mit einer Silbermedaille in der Kategorie „Textband Fototheorie“ ausgezeichnet wurde. Die Resonanz auf dieses textlastige Kunstbuch, welches aus der Debütant*innenförderung der Akademie der bildenden Künste Nürnberg hervorging, hätte ich mir nie erträumen können. Danke an all die Menschen die das mit mir zusammen möglich gemacht haben. Den Autor*innen, Künstler*innen, Kurator*innen, Übersetzer*innen, Lektor*innen, Grafikdesigner*innen, Illustrator*innen, Fotograf*innen, Förderstellen, dem Verlag, den beteiligten Institutionen, kurzum: Danke an das beste Team, ohne euch wäre das Projekt nicht zu dem geworden was es ist. November-Recap mit drei Kunstpreisen 🫣Ich durfte mich zuletzt über den Paula Modersohn-Becker Hauptpreis freuen. Ein großes Dankeschön an die Preisjury @bibliothekswohnung, Kathrin Baumstark und @madeleine_frey, sowie an die Auswahljury @merle_radtke und @radek_krolczyk. Herzliche Glückwünsche an dieser Stelle auch nochmal an @ngozischommers (Sonderpreis) und @wiebke_mertens (Nachwuchspreis). Wenn ihr in der Nähe von Bremen seit, schaut euch diese großartige Ausstellung unbedingt noch bis zum 9. März 2025 an. Danke an das ganze Team der @worpswedermuseen für die tolle Umsetzung! 🫂Weiter habe ich das Nationale Nachwuchsstipendium des @kunstverein_hannover gewonnen. Danke an @sebastianmoock, @prenzleranne, @__julianebischoff, @therealchristophplatz und die gesamte Preisjury. Ich freue mich sehr auf meinen kommenden Aufenthalt in der Villa Minimo. 🤝Außerdem durfte ich in meine Geburtsstadt Regensburg für den Kulturförderpreis der @stadtregensburg 2024 zurückreisen. Goldmedaille🏅@deutscher_fotobuchpreisMein Buch »80 Portraits: 73 Männer, 7 Frauen« wurde beim @festivalfotografischerbilder mit Gold in der Kategorie »Bildband künstlerische Fotografie« ausgezeichnet. Vielen Dank für die große Resonanz auf dieses Kunstbuch, entstanden aus der Debütant*innenförderung der AdBK München.Danke an alle, die dieses Projekt möglich gemacht haben. Allen voran an Endstation Rechts, Recherchenetzwerk Berlin und Recherche Nord sowie den zahlreichen anderen antifaschistischen Recherchenetzwerken und ihren Fotograf*innen für das Bildmaterial und ihre unermüdliche Arbeit. Das Buch ist eine Hommage an ihre journalistische und fotografische Praxis. Diese Auszeichnung unterstreicht die Wichtigkeit ihrer Arbeit ❤️Danke auch an den Verlag, die Gestaltung, die Theoretikerin für den Begleittext, die Übersetzung, das Lektorat, der Druckerei, den Förderstellen und an alle die dieses Projekt bisher in Ausstellungen und Symposien gefeatured haben. Works by Jonas Höschl and Rebekka Benzenberg are currently being presented as part of the group exhibition “ECHOES” by KUNZTEN!On the occasion of the upcoming finissage, Jonas Höschl will participate in an artist talk on July 12 at 5 pm.ECHOES brings together artistic practices that explore how images continue to resonate. The exhibition examines how visual representations travel through history, become embedded in the collective memory, and continue to shape our perceptions to this day. This is not merely a matter of art-historical references. The works featured in the exhibition likewise explore political narratives, social constructs, visions of the technological future, and cultural myths.Pola van den Hövel wrote on Höschl’s exhibited video work “Why are you crying?”: „The starting point for his video work Why are you crying? is Gloria von Thurn und Taxis and the auction of her art collection in 2005, during which Richard Prince’s painting of the same name was sold. We are delighted that two of Jonas Höschl's works are currently being presented as part of the main programme of this year's Krakow Photomonth! Poland, Germany, and Polish-German relations within the broader context of Central Europe form the central focus of the 23rd Month of Photography in Krakow, titled "Unreal Estate", the main program of which is organised into successive “chapters”.As such, Jonas Höschl's installation "09. September 2015, Röszke" is part of the group exhibition "Chapter II: A Possible Arrangement", taking place at the renowned Bunkier Sztuki! Chapter II examines various arrangements of objects, bodies and spaces to explore the tangled relations between Poland and Germany, whilst also touching upon areas of shared experience.Meanwhile, Höschl's work "80 Portraits: 73 Männer, 7 Frauen" is on display at Pałac Potockich in "Chapter III: Shifting Strata"! We‘re delighted to announce the great news that Jonas Höschl‘s work „80 Portraits: 73 Männer, 7 Frauen“ has been acquired by the Kunstpalast Düsseldorf following the friends of the Kunstpalast patron‘s acquisition tour at Art Düsseldorf! Many thanks to the patrons and the directors of the Kunstpalast collection, Linda Conze and Felicity Korn!Jonas Höschl‘s work was first presented at Anton Janizewski as part of the group exhibition „Gentle Reminder“ back in 2023. Although the slide projector may seem reminiscent of watching old vacation pictures at family gatherings, Höschl collected these images online from anti-fascist research networks, where they serve a clear purpose: to map the neo-Nazi scene, document its key figures, and warn activists of potential attacks. In their current configuration, they are stripped of their context and function. We’re delighted to announce that Jonas Höschl’s five-part multimedia installation „SSSSSSuzuki“ has recently been acquired by the prestigious LBBW Landesbank Baden-Württemberg Collection!The LBBW collection is based on more than 50 years of collecting history and brings together nationally and internationally renowned artists. Today, the focus is on works that were created in Germany or by German artists within the last decade. Open to all media, the collection represents all artistic media.We want to thank the LBBW Art Board, the Board of Trustees and especially the members of the Expert Board Dr. Nadia Ismail, Dr. Gregor Jansen and Sarah Haberkorn for their support of Jonas Höschl’s work. Höschl’s installation is centers on the Suzuki GS 750, which made headlines in 1977, when two members of the German RAF shot the German Federal Public Prosecutor General Siegfried Buback and his bodyguards. Drawing on a variety of sources to enable different perspectives on the events, Höschl manages to combine both the victim’s and the perpetrator’s perspectives, media receptions and state security efforts in his work.Höschl is also part of our upcoming presentation at Art Düsseldorf 2026! After many years of collaborative effort, we are pleased to announce the representation of concept artist and photographer Jonas Höschl! We’re already looking forward to present new works of his at the upcoming Art Düsseldorf! In his works, Jonas Höschl examines the identity-forming potential of political systems. Drawing on regional political scandals and European conflicts, he highlights the alienation from unifying ideals. Höschl appropriates the sometimes historical visual languages of ideologies with differing orientations to expose propagandistic manipulation.Jonas Höschl (*1995 in Regensburg, Germany; lives and works in Munich and Vienna) studied fine art and sculpture at the Academy of Fine Art Munich. Höschl was awarded numerous grants and prizes, among them the Bavarian Art Promotion Award 2025, Munich and the Paula Modersohn-Becker Art Prize 2024. Most recently, his publication 80 Portraits: 73 Männer, 7 Frauen (Verlag für moderne Kunst) was awarded with the German Photobook Award 25/26 – Gold Medal, Category “Artistic Photography Photobook”.
