Over the past week I have been multi tasking. Building a new 4 panel screen that’s 8’x2’x4. Then building a floating frame for a painting from 1989 that I plan on reworking, the last in a series of 8 that I have reworked over the past two years. An interesting process in itself, choosing paintings that when I was sorting through my storage called out, catching my attention, allowing me to see a way deeper into the image and know how it could be deepened and resolved.
The last photo is of a painting I have been working on for the past two months. I am now to that stage where I am glazing translucent color deepening shadows and enhancing the way the light moves. It is a delicate dance, one that can’t be undone but critical to the sense of transcendence and emotional beauty.

“Towards This Gathering of Choices Met “
60”x40” oil on canvas 2026

It has been a while since I’ve been engaged here as I have been working on multiple projects in the studio. This is the first piece finished out of a continuing series regarding how we navigate the choices not only before us but those glimpsed, allusive and alluring that offer us a deeper awakening experience.

“Beyond the Veil Pierced” 80 1/2”x24 1/2”-4 panels
Oil & Oil Pastel on Canvas 2026

In the need so great
The yearning towards
Understanding beyond this moment’s presence
Beyond that lingering doubt
Towards hope, now, imagined.

Within ourselves depths plunged, hope unfurled
This discovery held
The shimmering parting in Illusive touch
The veil pierced, beyond all measure,
Consciousness divine glimpsed
In fierce light exposed.
