From block to light.

Custom made for a private project, this washbasin was handcrafted in Portugal.

The basin draws from the soft geometry of the iris flower, set above a fluted conical base and a coloured marble top.
Light passing through the stone reveals the depth of the form.

This is how made by hand holds all its significance.

Made to order handles for custom projects
Handmade in Portugal

Designing handles has always been part of Jonathan Amar Studio’s know how. A small detail, but one that changes the whole feel of a piece of furniture or space.

These are made with hand blown Portuguese glass, with colour fused through the glass itself so each piece comes out slightly different. The brass surround gives structure and a clean edge to each shape.
