FYC: Best Chamber Music / Small Ensemble Performance | BRIDGETOWER PROJECT 🎵 Florence Price: Adoration, arr. for violin and piano by Elaine Fine 🎻 Ilya Kaler, violin 🎹 Rasa Vitkauskaite, piano #BridgetowerProject #FlorencePrice #ChamberMusic #ClassicalMusic #FYC by @jonathancohler
🎶 Featured Artist Spotlight: Ilya Kaler | Violin Bridgetower Project is proud to recognize the extraordinary violinist behind the “Impossible” sonata, Ilya Kaler! Arguably one of the most difficult violin sonatas ever written, Beethoven’s Sonata No. 9 in A Major, Op. 47 demands extraordinary artistry, stamina, and imagination. @classicfm even ranks it among the three most challenging works for the violin! Few violinists are as exceptionally equipped to take on such a challenge as Ilya, who remains the only violinist in history to have won the top prize at three of the world’s most prestigious violin competitions: Paganini, Sibelius, and Tchaikovsky. He is also a professor of violin at the @cimedu. This recording marks the culmination of nearly a decade of collaboration with Ilya across a variety of musical projects. I hope you’ll take a moment to listen to his interpretation of this masterpiece. You won’t be disappointed! Thank you, Ilya, for your extraordinary artistry, friendship, and years of musical collaboration! 📷 @alechutson (Oktaven Audio), @caitlincannonphotography (Church of the Heavenly Rest), @jennifertaylorphotography (Carnegie) #BridgetowerProject #ChamberMusic #Beethoven #ChamberMusic #Violin by @jonathancohler
🎶 Featured Artist Spotlight: Jonathan Cohler | Producer & Clarinetist Bridgetower Project is honored to spotlight clarinet soloist, conductor, record producer, and educator @jonathancohler! Jonathan’s extensive discography spans an extraordinary range of repertoire, and his encyclopedic knowledge of classical music and meticulous attention to detail are second to none. In addition to his exceptional work as producer and his performance on the world premiere recording of @paquitodrivera’s “Bridgetower Reimagined,” I’m particularly grateful to Jonathan for joining me onstage on several occasions to present Bridgetower Project, performing both Florence Price’s “Adoration” and the duet version of “Bridgetower Reimagined” on clarinet when violin was unavailable. And if you’ve attended any of these performances, you may have noticed Jonathan’s signature red socks and two-tone shoes, his unmistakable concert accessories! Thank you, Jonathan, for helping make all of this happen! #BridgetowerProject #JonathanCohler #ClassicalMusic #ChamberMusic #Clarinet by @jonathancohler
🎶 Featured Artist Spotlight: Rita Dove | Poetry Bridgetower Project is honored to collaborate with Pulitzer Prize winner and former U.S. Poet Laureate Rita Dove. Her acclaimed poetry collection Sonata Mulattica has been instrumental in bringing renewed attention to the life and legacy of George Bridgetower, and was the inspiration behind our project. On the album, Rita reads four of her poems from the collection, bringing historical context and a powerful literary dimension to the music. Rita is one of the most celebrated and remarkable literary voices of our time. I hope her readings on the album will inspire you to explore more of her work. Thank you, Rita, for being part of this collaboration! @mountainside_studio #BridgetowerProject #RitaDove #ClassicalMusic #GeorgeBridgetower #SonataMulattica by @jonathancohler

Magic Behind the Board! 🎶 Bridgetower Project is incredibly grateful to the extraordinary engineers who helped bring this ambitious, multistate collaboration to life. None of this would have been possible without their expertise, dedication, patience, and incredible attention to detail. 🎙️ Brad Michel, four-time GRAMMY® Award winner, recorded Beethoven’s Violin Sonata No. 9 “Bridgetower,” at the beautiful @shalinliuperformancecenter in Rockport, MA. On a personal note, Brad has been involved in every single one of my recordings. He has been there through my good days and bad days at the studio, and by now, he has truly seen it all! I’m so grateful for his support, guidance, and honest opinions over the years. 🎙️ Ryan Streber of @oktavenaudio in Mount Vernon, NY, recorded Florence Price’s “Adoration,” recently featured as @gramophonemagazine’s Video of the Day, as well as the world-premiere recording of @paquitodrivera’s “Bridgetower Reimagined.” 🎙️ James McLaughlin of @mountainside_studio in Charlottesville, VA, recorded Pulitzer Prize-winning former U.S. Poet Laureate Rita Dove reading selections from her acclaimed “Sonata Mulattica,” bringing her extraordinary poetry into the heart of this project. So much happens behind the scenes, and these remarkable individuals deserve to be celebrated just as much as the artists in front of the microphones. Thank you, Brad, Ryan, and James, for your incredible work and for being such an important part of Bridgetower Project! #BridgetowerProject #RecordingEngineers #ChamberMusic #BehindTheScenes #classicalmusic by @jonathancohler
