Congratulations to Jonathan Lagudi - Winner of the Inaugural On the Rise: Actor’s Edition, Powered by the Golden Globe Foundation.

Australians in Film (AiF) is proud to announce that New South Wales actor Jonathan Lagudi has been named the winner of the inaugural On the Rise: Actor’s Edition, powered by the Golden Globe Foundation.

On the Rise is a new initiative designed to provide a spotlight, platform, and vital industry access for Australian creatives unrepresented in the United States. Lagudi was selected as the top emerging talent from 100 submissions, following a competitive selection process led by representatives from leading Hollywood management companies including Artists First, Echo Lake Entertainment, Stride Management, and More Medavoy Management.

As part of the program, all actors who applied had their work viewed by Hollywood managers and participated in an exclusive Masterclass with Blumhouse’s Head of Casting, Terri Taylor (Get Out, Crazy Rich Asians), held online today. Acclaimed Australian actor Damon Herriman also joined the conversation, offering insights from his extensive international career.

Lagudi, who has appeared in numerous Australian short films and the Australian crime drama The North Shore, will also receive an additional 30-minute general meeting with Terri Taylor.

Also a 30-minute meeting with award winning Australian actor Damon Herriman known for his work both in Australia and the U.S.

This initiative marks another step in AiF’s ongoing mission to champion Australian talent on the world stage through professional development, networking, and mentorship opportunities in Los Angeles and beyond.

Our next On the Rise Actor’s Edition is coming in 2026, so stay tuned for more information!
