And thus, KCL Mnight 2024 has come to an end. When I was first chosen as music director for this show, I knew of our limitations — we did not have the resources to form a live band, and in lieu of those limitations, my proposal for 5 original songs could definitely be touted as ambitious. The past few months have been riddled with immense worry and countless setbacks, and yet, I wouldn’t trade them for the world.

To my committee — the dream team of dream teams. Tech week made us lose a few hairs, with our brain cells dropping out by the follicle. Working so closely with y’all over this tumultuous week has strengthened our bond and created lifelong memories, and I couldn’t have asked for a better group of individuals to struggle with. Thank you for trusting me to lead the music direction for this show. My love for all of you has grown with each passing month, and my gratitude for each of you will never cease.

To my music team, where do I even begin. All of you literally carried me through this role. We’ve come so far — from our humble beginnings of only having guitar demos for months, to creating the 5 beautiful pieces we now call our own. I remember playing TSIC, ETS, and TWOY to y’all at their embryonic stages, and y’all have turned those midnight strokes of creativity into masterpieces; words can’t begin to encapsulate how much gratitude I have. From the unending all nighters to the cursed demo piano loop of PAP, I love y’all with all my heart.

To my singers, proud can’t begin to describe how I feel about everyone’s performances on Thursday. All of you have made each of the songs your own, and it pains me to know that I will never be your vocal coach again…

To my dance teammates, thank you all so much for your endless support and encouragement. I found myself looking forward to every dance practice, to bask in the joy of camaraderie and fervour. I have so much love for each of you, everyone lit the stage up last week and I couldn’t be more thankful to have been a part of that.

We did it all demi cinta, and the love I have for this show and the people in it will never waver.
