Had FUN last night at the WORLD PREMIERE screening of the feature film “DON’T FOLLOW ALICE” @dontfollowalicemovie at the awesome GRAND LAKE THEATER @grandlaketheater in beautiful downtown Oakland, California. The film’s written and directed by the wonderful RICK HAYNES @rick.haynes.16

Was fun playing the role of “BRADLEY’S FATHER” in the production.

While the movie itself is extremely entertaining with OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCES and some very light and humorous moments, it also deals with some very serious and timely issues that can’t be ignored.

Wow! Some good news from Cannes…

Absolutely GOBSMACKED to share that my feature screenplay MINT has been named an AWARD WINNER — SCI-FI OR FANTASY SCRIPT by the Cannes Script Festival. @cannes_script_festival

MINT asks a simple question:

What if money really did grow on trees?

Deep in the Brazilian rainforest, a struggling Big Pharma scientist discovers an alien plant that grows flawless U.S. currency. When she secretly uses it to save her dying mother, she ignites a deadly race between a ruthless drug cartel, corrupt authorities, and the Catholic Church to control the ultimate cash crop.

MINT is currently seeking the right producing partners and literary representation to help take it to the next level.

If the premise speaks to you, I’d love to connect.

Had a great time at the GIFF @glendaleiff Glendale International Film Festival. Met up with with celebrated filmmaker and my former fellow USC classmate, JEFFREY GARY @workcomptv
Loved sitting in on the Casting Director panel/Q & A at the Glendale Galleria. When my name showed up on the GIFF theater screen, RENÉE yelled out - “OH MY GOD!! JON CARLSON!!HE’S SITTING RIGHT HERE!!” I said, “Sorry folks… I have to get her back to the home soon.” 😆😆😆❤️ @glendalegalleria @glendaleartsca #glendaleiff2026 @coatcheck3 #uscfilmmakers @uscfilm taken in Laemmle Glendale by @jonccc6880

MINT is a grounded sci-fi thriller/social satire with dark humor, heart, and one irresistible question at its center:
What happens when money really does grow on trees?

Currently taking meetings with producers, managers, and production companies interested in the project.
If MINT sounds like something you’d like to discuss, DM me. Would love to talk.

LOTS OF FUN at the World Premiere screening of the feature “DISCIPLES of a CRAFTSMAN.”

The latest production from HATCHING CHICK MEDIA @hatchingchickmedia and @htsidlemind

FANTASTIC CAST including: TIMOTHY BROOKS @timotheelbrooks LIZETH LOPEZ @lizethlpzofficial JATAUN GILBERT @juicemanjaja HAILEY COX @haileycox DONALD RAY ANTOINE @donaldrayy_ and many others including myself.

I HAD A BLAST playing the extremely unhelpful CITY COUNCILMAN - “Kurt” with my awesome scene partner LIZETH LOPEZ. (she rocks!)

The film was TRI-DIRECTED by the amazing CLAIRE EVANS @claire.ev_ DANIA DENISE @daniadenise and the incomparable HT himself @htsidlemind

A very human and heartfelt story with both tragedy and comedy set in a fictional Bay Area County. Totally worth a look.
