Since there are over 700 people here now I figured a reintroduction was necessary.

Hi! I'm Jess and I am finally calling myself a runner after 15+ years running. I am a special education teacher and mom and I greatly enjoy having running a time for myself. I love connecting with other runners.

*I noticed the picture is cut off on the side and it is driving my type A self crazy but I'll keep it. It should say "special ed evaluator"

I didn't hit the wall in my first marathon. How did I do it?

I fueled.
I carb loaded.
I hydrated.
I read and listened to experts.
And I practiced and figured out what worked for me.

There was also probably quite a bit of luck involved.

Here are my favorite resources for loads of information about this:

Shorts in November is rare and I will take it. Now to try to convince my brain it isn't time to hibernate for 6 months. by @jonesybonesruns

You know I had to go on another Halloween decorations hunt run! This wasn't even all I saw, my town knows how to Halloween.

Do you prefer spooky or cute Halloween decorations? by @jonesybonesruns

Headache all day today just wouldn't quit so I traded a run for a quick lift, with a Halloween edit.

Least favorite exercise today? Those shelc curls. What lift kills you? by @jonesybonesruns

I love a good classic slasher. Are you a fan of horror movies and if so do you prefer legit scary or campy and fun? by @jonesybonesruns

The audio really fit this one 🤣 I've never been so humbled by 5 pounds. by @jonesybonesruns

Feeling sappy today- happiest birthday to my eldest. He and his brother are the biggest lights in my life and I am so grateful to be here living my life as their mom ❤️ by @jonesybonesruns

I never want to lift but I always remember I love it 10 minutes in. The inner circle app makes it so easy (link in bio!)

What did you get in for a workout today? by @jonesybonesruns

Running with our terrible pictures holding my bib in place will never not be funny to me.

I seriously considered stopping my run early yesterday just so I could go get my kids at "normal" time. I feel guilty missing sunday mornings with them for long runs. I constantly feel guilty about going and doing races.

But you know who doesn't mind? My kids. They love the time they get with their dad. They love running with me. They love talking to me about races after. They enjoy seeing me do something I love.

We all feel guilt sometimes but we gotta remind ourselves it is worth it and the guilt isn't necessary. by @jonesybonesruns
