POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I've been meaning to post this for a while, but life has been crazy. @calsumusic and I recorded this a while ago in our series of vintage worship songs we've been doing together. This song has been a reminder to me in the dark and difficult moments when I feel like I have no strength left, that God is the strength of my life. I pray you will be encouraged, strengthened, and uplifted by this song. 🙏

The LORD is my light and my salvation;
Whom shall I fear?
The LORD is the strength of my life;
Of whom shall I be afraid.
Psalm 27:1

Here is the third song in my Vintage Worship Series - Holy and Annointed One

When we are hurting, when we are confused, when life doesn't make sense. We can call on the name of Jesus. There is power in His name. This is another song that I found myself singing over and over through some of the darkest times of my life. Hope, strength, and salvation can be found in the name of Jesus. May this song encourage you and help you take your eyes off of the storms in your life and instead focus on Jesus.

And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:12

Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. John 14:13

For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Romans 10:13

Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Philippians 2:9-11

Vintage worship song #2 - Jesus Draw Me Close

There are times in life when the heartache and hurt runs so deep that you find yourself at a complete loss for words. You’ve prayed all you can think of to pray, you have no idea what else to do, nothing seems to make sense, and you feel utterly broken and helpless. I was there. Driving down the road, tears streaming down my face, completely poured out before God. There was no solution, no way to fix the brokenness. All I could do was cry out for God’s presence to meet me where I was at. Through the tears I found myself stumbling through this song, a song that I hadn’t thought of for years. I could barely even get the words out, but it was the cry of my heart. “Jesus draw me close, closer Lord to you. Let the world around me fade away”

Over the following weeks this song came back over and over. I sang it in the midst of tears. In the midst of helplessness. I may still be hurting but I know that I am not alone. Whatever you are going through I pray that Jesus will draw you close. May this song be a reminder of His love for you and that you are not alone.

“You never realize Jesus is all you need, until Jesus is all you have”. - Corrie Ten Boom

What does it look like to have faith when life feels chaotic?

@jonmicahsumrall and @calsumusic know what it means to trust God when nothing makes sense. But faith isn’t just believing God is with you. Sometimes it looks like stepping out, taking action and trusting him with what happens next.

You may not have all the answers. You may not know exactly where he’s leading. Take the next faithful step anyway.

Faith isn’t passive. Put action behind what you believe.

What do you do when life doesn’t line up with what you believe about God?

Jon Micah from Kutless shares how he wrestled with God’s promises when his own experience seemed to contradict them—and how he came to realize he was looking at those truths from the wrong perspective.

You can walk through pain and still believe God is good. Sometimes faith means holding on to that truth even when you don’t understand.

What do you do when the faith you’ve built your life around suddenly feels like it isn’t working?

Jon Micah reached a point where he genuinely wondered if he was done. He had watched people walk away, felt the same pull himself, and had to wrestle with some difficult questions.

But underneath all of it was one thing he couldn’t shake: he still believed it was true.

Sometimes the hardest part of faith is wrestling with what you thought you understood.
