It always makes me happy to place my art in health care spaces.

Midnight Blue is now at HSS Hudson Yards, a beautiful new facility where they have created an oasis of blue throughout the space. Super Duper has also found a new home with Northwell Health NYC.

I strongly believe in the healing power of art, and it means a lot to have these pieces live in places where they can bring color, calm, energy, and imagination into people’s day.

Much of this series explores the invisible space between people; what is spoken, what is withheld, and what exists only internally. These figures are built from fragments, symbols, thoughts and visual noise, creating portraits of communication as something layered, imperfect and deeply human. The unsaid space between.

Much of my work is informed and inspired by music. In my continued explorations of sound, I’ve looked for ways to organically translate audio into other forms—to make it visible in new ways. In this abstract series, minute sound wave patterns from iconic songs are transformed into flowing compositions that melodically dance across the canvas. by @jonnydetiger

A few days ago I had the chance to visit the @prinsesmaximacentrum in Utrecht and see my painting in its new home. What an incredibly moving experience.

This place is so much more than a hospital. Every detail feels intentionally designed around life, creativity, healing, and dignity. During the tour we saw spaces I never expected in a children’s cancer center, colorful family areas, music studios and stages, backstage classrooms, creative spaces, outdoor play areas, beautiful architecture, and even rooms designed so parents can stay close to their children throughout treatment.

What impressed me most is how all of this exists alongside groundbreaking research and world-class care focused entirely on childhood cancer. You feel that the mission here goes beyond treatment. it’s about creating moments of normalcy, inspiration, connection, and joy in incredibly difficult circumstances.

I’ve always believed deeply in the power of art in healthcare and its ability to positively affect patients, families, and staff. Seeing my work become a small part of this environment was incredibly meaningful.

Huge respect to the children, families, clinicians, researchers, and everyone behind this extraordinary place. Grateful to contribute in even the smallest way.

And thank you to the foundation and everyone involved in making this installation possible.

Birds have always been a recurring symbol in my work — not just as animals, but as messengers between worlds. Across many spiritual traditions, birds represent ancestors, forefathers, protection, and unseen guidance. In my paintings and installations they become colorful spirits: singing, communicating, and carrying memory through space and sound. #birds by @jonnydetiger

My interactive music furniture works explore the space between sculpture, design, sound, and living environment. I integrate vintage record players, vinyl, speaker systems, custom-built furniture, and sometimes natural elements such as plants, water, and live fish to create objects that function as both furniture and immersive sound installations.

The pieces are meant to be experienced physically and emotionally — part listening station, part domestic sculpture, part playful ecosystem. By combining music technology with furniture and organic materials, I’m interested in creating environments where sound, design, nostalgia, and nature all become part of one living artwork.

From my Obscure Movie Stills series. Paintings based on frames and exact subtitles pulled mostly from obscure films, then rearranged into new conversations and emotional introspection. Each piece is 22” x 12”, matching the proportions of a movie screen, like fragments from a film that never fully existed.
