Six Flags - not just Disney's crusty cousin! Six Flags Great Adventure has been a big part of every summer growing up. Visiting again without the looming shadow of Kingda Ka was a little sad, but other rides are still worth the wait. Granted, we got flash passes to cut every line ($30 for the day!!!!), and I couldn't recommend a better way to experience everything the park has to offer. From indoor rides for cooling off to the brand new Flash: Vertical Velocity Coaster that zips you forward and back on one track, there's plenty to love about this Jackson, NJ park. Full breakdown of my 8 favorite rides (made better with my boyfriend by my side!!!) is here and on my Substack. New posts every date that ends with 8! #sixflags #rollercoaster #greatadventure taken in Six Flags Great Adventure by @jonnyswriting

This game has been collecting cobwebs on my Switch 2, but I finally broke it out for a Banana-mazing time! DK's changed a lot over the years, but the lovable monkey mascot from Nintendo feels like he found his fit. Along with several silly outfit options that give you in-game power ups. From a balanced banking system to mutilating the world around you with fists of fury, there is so much to enjoy when playing Donkey Kong: Bananza #nintendo #nintendopartner #videogames #gamer #donkeykong by @jonnyswriting

Dare I say 2026 is the “Year of Avatar”? No, not James Cameron’s blue space colonizers, but the animated Avatar series from Paramount and Nickelodeon. After launching a brand-new film this summer and announcing a new installment airing this October, the 21-year-old franchise has never felt fresher. After several misfires and hollow attempts at a fun video game adaptation, Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game has arrived to knock your socks off with a lore-accurate, combat-heavy play experience. In addition to boasting beautiful hand-drawn animation and callbacks for true fans, the game is receiving hype for its virtually unheard-of roster, with 16 percent of playable characters being queer. #avatar by @jonnyswriting

"The film rewards viewers with a campy blood-soaked story that brings the worlds of these two women crashing together. The magic of Miasma isn’t in an intricate plot of overwhelming action as seen in other horror. Still, it paces itself to bring an authentic exploration of fantasy come-to-life. How one would act if they got their dream job, directing their dream girl, makes Einbinder’s Kris one to watch. The actor’s awkward charm still rings true beneath the overtly writerly glasses. The performance is restrained and intimate, culminating in a comedic bonfire set ablaze by passion." #moviereview #blog #cinema #film #filmtok by @jonnyswriting

"Dragon Strikers" on Disney/Disney+ offers a compelling found-family story filled with more magic than one can handle! Even better, it features canon ex-boyfriends Odward Stonegarden and Casper Ferreiro as they navigate their feelings both on and off the field. Spoiler alert: things get romantic, wild, and genuinely satisfying. Watching their breaking connection unfold is worth every moment, as is the entire first season of "Dragon Strikers." It is so important for queer representation to be introduced meaningfully. Portraying the two young men as exes creates an interesting dynamic and helps show that queer couples are just like anyone else—they breakup, argue, and kick butt with magical powers on the soccer pitch. See, like everyone else! Thank you @disneyplus for the access to stream "Dragon Strikers" and for sharing this M/M romance (which is really just a small part of the fun that the whole show offers) with audiences everywhere. Everyone except some countries in the Middle East. The clip that caused the show to be banned is on Slide 6 - what are your thoughts on the two??
