This past weekend I showcased work in my first gallery exhibition — Still Moving, at Monad Gallery in Brooklyn, NY for their Black History Month showcase. Watching people stand in front of my images, take them in, and connect with them in real time was a different kind of feeling. Not just exciting, but reaffirming. A reminder that the work is supposed to resonate beyond me.

I’m super grateful for my people. Marcus and Joelle for holding me down all weekend. Kyr and Ant for sliding to NYC. Rhia for reaffirming me. The calls, the texts, the people other folks who came through in person, that support meant more than yall know. taken in New York, New York by @jonomite
