A Tawny Eagle strutting its stuff to entertain the local baboons. I am enthralled with birds, especially in flight. Such wild creatures, or maybe it’s my old age forcing me into the thrilling world of bird watching. Either way, I’m digging it.

Enough with the animals, how about a few vistas. Starting off with the prehistoric looking Baobab tree, then the ever popular Acacia. Then fine sunrise (you always have to throw in a sunrise shot). From there we caught a couple of eagles working on their dance routine and finish you off with a serene lil shot of a Maasai village on the edge of the Ngorongoro Crater. by @jonpdx

Time for the Olive Baboons! Starting off with this lil dude, noodling with his toes, then hanging with the family, then in that fourth pic he is going on and on about the mundane life of kids and the parents just gotta sit through it and pretend to be entertained. by @jonpdx

Yeah, cats are cats. I envisioned stealthy lions hunting and chasing herbivores around the plains, but no, it’s more the cats at my house. Lots of napping and yawning… rinse and repeat. by @jonpdx

We have all seen zebras at the zoo, or at the carnival and it’s fun, even though we know it’s probably just a painted donkey. But when I got up close to these wild guys I was floored. The detail of their markings are mesmerizing. Each one has a unique pattern, like fingerprints.

This Eurasian Hoopoe and I wandered the ruins at Sukhothai together. I guess it was more me stalking rather than a ‘together’ kind of thing.
