What’s the best day of MY life?? Well, I’ve had such a rich life, seen so many places, experienced so many human emotions doing things I’ve loved and going through things I wish I could have escaped. This song came out after being asked to play a house concert for a woman who had a terminal illness. I was someone’s moonshot. Someone’s last wish. my songs would be part of her final send off. the experience of playing for her and her closest family and friends was altogether devastating, humbling and a potently beautiful moment to be a part of. So, Fast forward to when I started playing the song during my TikTok and IG lives, it connected w people so much that they kinda demanded it be on the new record. TLDR — I listened. So here it is — Best Day of Your Life … and for the record, the last slide was from the best day of my life taken in Vancouver, British Columbia by @jonrbryant

Believe it or not, I took these photos of @jonrbryant at @thejubileens this year, and if you’re seeing this post that means you A) have impeccable taste for music & B) like discovering new indie artists on here - so if your eyes are happy right now, can you let me know through button taps and nice words?

Sadly, only about 7% of you will have read this far, but if you could drop a photo of your cat in the comments - It could actually change my life ✌🏻❤️

There are probably more versions of ourselves living in our heads than we’d ever admit.

The person who stayed.
The person who left.
The person who made the other choice.
The person who never picked up the phone.

Jon Bryant’s “Another Life” lives somewhere in the uncomfortable curiosity of wondering what might have happened if the story had bent another way.

And maybe that question hits differently when you’ve lived enough life to have a few roads behind you.

Bryant has been making music for more than fifteen years.

He’s accumulated more than 100 million streams, made records, acted, made visual art, and spent years turning the parts of being human that are difficult to explain into songs.

Now he’s preparing to move back to Nova Scotia, with fatherhood on the horizon, while releasing an album that takes an honest look at life as it actually happened.

That makes “Another Life” feel like more than a song about alternate timelines.

It feels like a person taking inventory.

Of the choices. The mistakes. The people. The places. The things that changed him. The things that didn’t. And all those imaginary doors that stay somewhere in the back of your mind, even after you’ve chosen which one to walk through.

There’s something deeply human in wondering about the life you didn’t live while still trying to be present for the one you did.

Another Life is out now.

Bryant’s forthcoming album, Harbour, arrives November 27 via Nettwerk.

Very sad to wake up this am and find out that one of the great folk artists of our time passed away last night. For me, Glenn was a true inspiration and hero. Someone to look up to. He show me the power of what an acoustic guitar and a voice can do to the human soul. This cover isn’t much, but if someone discovers his music (and swell season) through it, it was well worth it. taken in Halifax, Nova Scotia by @jonrbryant
