The first pic is how we ended 2025, and even if it looks like a boring New Year’s Eve, I thought it was perfect. 32 might seem like a boring birthday but I’m very grateful we could spend it together. Some great pics have been shared but I don’t think this video has been posted yet. It shows me sneaking up on @momo_behar and her progression from confusion to surprise to and finally to understanding why I was there. If it’s not clear, I was there to ask her to marry me. I had no idea what I was going to say when I walked up but what ended up coming out was “I had no idea what I was looking for but I knew it when I found it.” I’ve felt lucky every day of our relationship and I feel even luckier that she said yes. I am so excited for our future together.

I spend 99% of my time running on roads so it’s always an interesting and humbling experience to get out onto trails. It’s a very different type of running and I would like to improve. Like all things it takes practice and as part of that training I signed up for the Double Squatch which was back to back 6 hour races (one on Saturday and one on Sunday). I ended up doing about 19 miles on the first day and 13 on day two. Not exactly the kind of mileage I was hoping to put up from 12 hours of running but given the terrain, elevation, fresh snow overnight, and my inexperience on trails I think it was a solid effort. Next up is the North Face Bear Mountain 50k which totally wrecked me last year. Hoping to get a little revenge this time around. Thanks to @sassquadtrailrunning for putting on a great event, I will definitely be back for more Sassquad races in the future. @teamprorer #gt4lyfe taken in Stokes State Forest by @jontascher
