JOOHWA bubble letters made by me!!!

Very much enjoyed the creative making process of figuring out what fabric patterns to pair up & eyeballing the letter design and style. Twas a bit of trial and error but so rewarding at the end of it all.

A labor of love over approx eight hours the day before we debuted it at our mid-autumn festival pop-up with @hhao_official at @house_modastudio a few weeks ago.

Seeing it completed like this made my heart sing ♥️🎶

After nearly 4 years of using our pink velvet displays & as one of our core colors, it was time for a switch up. Still using some of the elements of our past pop-up set ups.

Thank you to my friends @justinakioka and @zilaerdna for the fabrics that were used ♡(˃͈ દ ˂͈ ༶ )

JOOHWA Birthstone Babe: September 2026 Edition

Sparkling in Sapphire

Sapphires are signifiers of the height of celestial hope and faith, bringing its wearers protection and good fortune. It is a stone of truth, wisdom and loyalty often worn by royals for its believed properties in divine favor.

This month’s birthstone babe is my dear friend @krisupreme, my og work wifey and someone so close to my heart. One of my ultimate style icons and out of all the people I know probably has the wardrobe that I covet the most, like this denim issey set she wore for the shoot. She has always been a grounding presence in my life, a friendship of nearly a decade now! A friendship that really flourished during our work trip to Tokyo back in 2018, and to date one of my favorite trips of my life.

Kristine is the definition of calm, collected & unbothered. She carries herself with the utmost elegance and grace. I love you Kristine <3

Sapphire is mostly recognized in this rich, velvety royal blue color, though it exists in the entire spectrum as colors except for red (which is classified as a ruby!)

Peridot symbolizes light, renewal & prosperity.

Did you know? Peridot can be formed by volcanoes like Kilauea, thus peridot has been locally nicknamed as “Hawai’i’s Diamond.”

Peridot ring stack!

Another nickname for the peridot is “gem of the sun,” a name given to this stone by the ancient Egyptians because of the vibrant yellow-green hue that seemed to light it from within. They believed that this stone captured solar energy & radiated warmth.

Peridot is also believed to align heart chakras by encouraging compassion and emotional balance.
