🎥 #002 of Ethereal Boogie DJ mixes. Link in bio.

DJ Hokka is a partner and resident at Ambient Bar, the left-handed right-hand man of the house. He has been playing records since 2013, first in Turku, then Helsinki, and has put on a fair number of his own nights along the way. Depending on where he is playing you might get 70s psych rock, minimal house, or goa pitched right down. This is what you get at Ambient Bar most of the time. Pianos, guitars, a lot of reverb, vocals used as texture. Around 105 BPM, sunset into the small hours.

Be present.

Minimal music with maximal fidelity. This is the third instance of our minimal music oriented Mikrokosm event. Blips, brrrs, clicks and thumps provided by our own @joonashokka and guest @si_mondj 📀 The evening is started with live set by @nikopettersen.studio 🌸✨

The live set consists of stylistically evocative electronic ambient music. Niko’s vinyl releases issued under the alias Late Echo Express on the Berlin-based Hidden Hawaii label reflect a strand of the work focused on sound design—lingering, minimal, and stripped-back in nature. More recent material, to be released later this year, is created using a synthesiser orchestra, bypassing computer-based methods, and focusing on ethereal harmonies and subtly playful, evolving soundscapes.

From 19.00 to 01.30.

DJ Hokan seteissä kuullaan eteerisen downtempon lisäksi psykedeelistä hippirokkia, 80-luvun synapoppia sekä hidasta baleaarista housea ja diskoa. Miestä kiinnostavat pitkät kaiut ja napakat bassolinjat. by @joonashokka
