🎶It’s gonna be a Happy New Year!🎶

Happy New Year, everyone! I’m so excited to see what 2026 brings my way. 2025 was a year of highs and lows, but one of the best parts of my year was getting the chance to design costumes for one of my favorite musicals, RENT!

This is the show that first got me interested in theatre so it seems fitting that it’s my MFA Thesis. I learned so much about myself as a person and designer throughout this process and I’ll always be grateful that I was able to dive into the lives of these characters and build the world they live in with the best team and people.

It’s impossible to capture a lifetime of memories, laughter, and love in a single post. My Mom-Mom passed away yesterday morning after a long battle with dementia. Anyone who knows me knows how special and important she was to me.

She was a kind, caring, and stubborn Irish woman who lived for her family—especially her grandkids. She always made sure we knew how much we were loved and supported us and our dreams, no matter how crazy they seemed.

Watching her slowly slip away because of such a cruel disease made this even harder, but I know she’s at peace now. Dementia is awful and unforgiving, but with help from her family—especially my Dad—I know she felt loved and cared for until the very end.

I would give anything to pick up the phone and hear her say, “Hi, Sugarplum!” one more time.
And she’s definitely the reason I still say ‘wooter’ to this day. I love you, Mom-Mom by @jooshwoots

Now that we’re past our final design presentations I can give you a peek at just a few of the costumes I’ve been designing for my THESIS production of RENT at the University of Florida!! This has been the most challenging show I’ve ever designed, but I’m so happy with what we’re creating! Come see RENT in October for the full design package!
