My nameā€™s Jo, and Iā€™m an Artist šŸŒ· This film feels really special, not only working with my brother @rancefilm collaboratively and just having the BEST time, but also noticing the shift in my confidence. Iā€™m forever feeling grateful to be doing something I love, in the environment I love, surrounded by the people I love. Hereā€™s to painting and having a jolly good time doing it!šŸŒ¼šŸŒž #meettheartist #landscapepainter #contemporaryartist #emergingartist #contemporarypainting #nature by @jorancedesign
ā€˜A Chance of April Showersā€™, ā€˜The Morning After the Last Frostā€™, ā€˜Blossoms in Late Mayā€™šŸŒ·šŸƒ As we are edging closer to the end of November, Iā€™m excited to offer some much needed Winter light, with my first print release in 2 years! Over the past couple of years Iā€™ve been focusing solely on painting and my original pieces, days and weeks in the studio working on collections that make my heart sing. I hope that these limited offerings will allow more people to enjoy my work in their spaces. Mailing list friends will get first access this Friday, ahead of the full release on Sunday šŸŒøšŸ‚ #contemporarylandscapepainting #contemporaryartist #britishpainter #naturepainting by @jorancedesign
ā€œGardens reflect us, they are like canvases - ever changing with the rhythm of the seasons, shaped by time, care and hope.ā€ Ā  It was such a privilege to be able to paint at Highgrove Gardens earlier this summer with His Majestyā€™s charity, The Kingā€™s Foundation - to learn and to draw inspiration from these amazing gardens. Ā  The gardens at Highgrove are a wonderful example of His Majestyā€™s vision for living in harmony with nature - a sentiment that I too hold close to my heart, and one that informs my painting practice as an artist. Ā  Itā€™s been an honour to be one of the @kingsfdn 35 Under 35 this year, selected as part of the 35th anniversary of The Kingā€™s Foundation - which is the custodian of @highgrovegarden . Thank you for the opportunity to paint in these beautiful gardens. šŸƒ by @jorancedesign
ā€˜Dahlias Under a Normandy Sunā€™, one of my paintings from my Normandy inspired pieces currently showing at @eastwoodfineartltd in their Autumn show. Painting the landscapes and gardens we saw on our trip to Giverny in the summer was such a special way to reflect on the trip, and even more so a love letter to those glorious Dahlias! Theyā€™re magnificent! This piece is one of a handful available, as a number have found new homes (thank you!) Do you love Dahlias and the French countryside as much as me? #contemporarylandscapepainting #normandy by @jorancedesign
This October, we welcomed a wonderful collection of work by Jo Rance, which was very quickly snapped up by happy collectors. Weā€™re delighted to be sharing more of her work next week at the Affordable Art Fair in Battersea. We know many of you follow and support the gallery from afar, and itā€™s lovely to see our community of like-minded artists and art enthusiasts continuing to grow. For those who donā€™t often find themselves on Cornwallā€™s shores, a visit to our gallery isnā€™t always possible. Thatā€™s why we love the opportunity to bring our curation and team to London, giving you the chance to see the work in person, have a chat with us, and discover how we can help you grow your art collection or perhaps find your very first piece. Weā€™d love to see you next week and have a limited number of complimentary tickets to share with our community, available on a first-come, first-served basis. If youā€™d like to join us, simply drop us an email at caroline@milieustudios.co.uk to request tickets. Weā€™d love to meet you, hear what youā€™re drawn to, and chat about the artists we represent with you. Find us at Stand J3, 14ā€“18th October, at the Affordable Art Fair, Battersea. Discover a thoughtfully curated collection of work by eight female artists. We hope to see you there! by @jorancedesign
Painting nature is so much more than depicting a landscape or scene youā€™ve admired. Iā€™ll be the first to admit that I can be a bit of a shy gal at times, especially when it comes to the deeply personal thoughts and feelings that have sparked or surround a particular painting. Nature however is one of lifeā€™s best tonics for the tricky stuff, and painting through those thoughts and feelings, just acts as a cherry on top. I love titling my works to gently (or sometimes candidly) nod to the link between nature and my soul, feelings, and inner workings. Itā€™s magic, and actually, one of my favourite parts of the process. I hope to welcome you in to the work and let your heart attach to the sentimental parts that might resonate šŸ’ž ā€˜Gathering memories of you in the shadow of the Trees, talking to you stillā€™, 100x120cm ~ available in YIELD, showing at @milieu.studios until the 12th October. The paintings from this magnificent trip to Giverny back in Summer are about to be out in the world šŸŖ· Iā€™ve wanted to visit Monetā€™s iconic Pink house and gardens for the longest time and it was such a treat to get to do so on our trip to Paris a couple of months back. The Dahlias were blooming in Rosey shades, the sky was Blue, and true to my usual style, I painted them otherwise! The garden was such a magical place and I could have easily spent hours and hours there (manifesting a trip to France next year to paint!šŸ‚) This collection of work will be available in the Autumn exhibition at @eastwoodfineartltd - opening Saturday 10th October. #giverny #monetsgarden #landscapepainting by @jorancedesign
Painting Trees is always such a treat, there are endless shades and patterns to patchwork together and maintaining a balance whilst working through foliage is one of the many push and pulls when it comes to painting. Honestly, always a pleasure and never a chore when depicting some of my favourite friends. A look back on one of the wonderful works Jo Rance exhibited with with us, as part of ā€˜Field Notes,ā€™ back in June. How time flies. Standing amongst Ranceā€™s work, you quickly calm fromĀ our busy livesĀ and enter a world where trees whistle and buds sparkle.Ā A place where hares dance in the meadows and swans bask by the riverside in the summer warmth. These are joyful works that unashamedly draw attention to theĀ richness of our landscape. - - - - ā€˜My Favourite Swan,ā€™ Acrylic on Canvas (Framed), 90 x 75 cm, 2026 - - - - To request the catalogue follow the link in our bio. Delighted to share I have new paintings in ā€˜YIELDā€™, opening tomorrow at @milieu.studios ~ running until the 12th of October šŸ‚šŸŒ·šŸŒžšŸ¦‹āœØ It was so lovely to be able to deliver the works myself and see the gallery down in St Ives, Cornwall, in real life. So often itā€™s not possible to get to these beautiful spaces yourself regardless of whether your work is there, especially when they can be at opposite ends of the country to where you live! I was a part of one of Milieuā€™s first ever shows back in 2023, and itā€™s been so fab to see the ever evolving journey. Caroline and Hannah, youā€™re magic!šŸŖ„ A couple of studio snippets and paintings that are in this collection - ā€˜Gathering Memories of you in the Shadows of the Trees, Talking to you Stillā€™ + ā€˜Friends of Ours, Those Darling Birchā€™ šŸ‚āœØ Second image credit: @milieu.studios Ceramics: @cealswood #contemporarylandscapepainting #stivesart #cornwallart by @jorancedesign
One for the Cambridgeshire locals, a painting to mark the sweet scent of the blooms in the Rose garden at @angleseyabbeynt šŸ’«āœØ As a national trust loving gal, Anglesey Abbey really is one of my favourite places for a mooch, I titled a painting from this collection at @cca_gallery ā€˜My favourite place to beā€™ as well, it is! Iā€™m easily pleased. It was @david_austin_roses who donated 19 new Rose cultivars to the garden a couple of years back, with there now being 60 rose varieties here! Itā€™s such a treat to, well, stop and smell the roses šŸ„€ ā€˜Rose Garden at Angleseyā€™ 75x90cm Enquire @cca_gallery šŸ„€šŸ„€šŸ„€ #contemporarypainting #rosegarden #roses by @jorancedesign
