To Winston-Salem State University, my home for the past 4 years, I am incredibly grateful for all the memories and lessons that I have obtained and learned while attending here. I'm also so thankful for the people that I have met and who pushed me to continue this journey. To my support system of my friends and family, especially my parents, thank you so much for always believing in me and pushing me to be the best version of myself. I can't believe that by this time tomorrow, I will officially be an Alum of SU. Time has truly flown by. Lastly, I would like to announce that I will be attending NC Agricultural and Technical State University in the fall to pursue my Master's in Mental Health Counseling. Though I will be an Aggie for the next couple of years, I will always be a Ram at heart. Enter to Learn, Depart to Serve, always. 4/4 by @jordan.angelaa
To the Finest sorority, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, and to Omega chapter, my forever home, I am forever grateful that I was able to go down this path of becoming a Finer woman. Though I am still learning, I wouldn't trade this journey for the world. To those who came before me and paved the way, I am incredibly thankful for you all. Though my time in Omega chapter has dwindled down, I will continue to uphold the principles and life lessons that were instilled in me. I will forever be Omega Made. Thank you to our advisors who continue to love us unconditionally throughout everything. To my beautiful sisterz, 32 ShadeZ of EleganZe, words cannot express how much love I have for you all. We have been through so much together, and I'm so, so thankful for every experience and every new day with you all. I'm so glad that we were able to go through this journey together and that we are able to continue on this path together. Despite the distance that we will have as everyone graduates, I know that each of you will forever have my back as I have yours. Thank you so much for all the laughter and joy and all the memories that I will cherish with me forever. From Step Show winners to Yard Runnerz to Sorority of the Year, I am so proud of us and our accomplishments. Special shoutout to the DA Sigmas for welcoming us with open arms when we crossed in Spring '23 and showering us with brotherly love. Another special shoutout to Mekayla and T. I came into my photoshoot having a small vision of how I wanted things to look, and I am forever grateful to them for helping me evolve my vision. From helping me pose to helping me change, I am incredibly grateful. To our 25 babiez, the RenaiZZance, I am so, so proud of each and every one of you all for how far you've come. I'm really sad to leave you all, but I'm incredibly thankful for the bond that we've created, and I know that we will continue to build as the years go by. I know that you all will keep upholding the legacy and will continue making me proud. I love each and every one of you so, so much, and remember that I'm always a phone call away. To Red Sea of Sound, thank you for everything that you've taught me. It feels like it's been a long 3 years, but everything passed by too quickly. Leaving high-school, I was unsure if I was going to pursue colorguard in college, but I'm so glad that I decided to do it. Though I'm relieved that I don't have to experience another band camp, I'm going to miss practicing and standing on the field. If I could experience one more band trip or game day, I definitely would, but I am going to treasure the memories I made forever. To my Silky Smooth family, where to begin? We have truly been through so much together from the early mornings of band camp and performance days to the late nights of getting hair done and perfecting a routine. Though in the moment I always complained, I truly wouldn't trade our time together for the world. You all have taught me so much from how to "woman up" and how to truly be part of a team. Special shoutout to my coaches, Ms. Jill and Indi. I love each and every one of you dearly, and I wish you all the best with everything! 2/4 by @jordan.angelaa
To my major, dear Psychology, I have loved you since I first discovered you in 6th grade, and I ran with it. Psychology at WSSU has never been easy. RMS1 & RMS2 almost killed me, but I'm glad that I pushed through. To my department and to the faculty, thank you so much from the bottom of my heart. I appreciate you all so much from answering my distressed emails at midnight about graduate school and what to do about classes for the next semester. You all continuously pushed me and supported me through this journey, and I am so incredibly grateful. This is truly the best department to be a part of. Special shoutout to the MAAD Research Lab and Dr. Griffin. To my minors in Justice Studies and Rehabilitation Studies, though our time has been short, I am incredibly grateful to both of these departments as well. From Introduction Forensic Science and Foundations of Psycopharmology that really had me working, I am extremely grateful to the professors who pushed me to continue. To my peers, we made it, y'all! I am so, so incredibly proud of us for making it through because, like I said, research in psychology is not for the weak. I wish you all the best in your future endeavors, and thank you for being with me on this journey. From the group chats, to group projects, to checking on each other's papers, we made it! 1/4 by @jordan.angelaa
