My apps have over 18,000 signups. Here’s how I check a niche before I build anything.

Number one, an expanding market. Type the niche into Google Trends. If the line is climbing, you’re riding a wave. If it’s flat, you’re fighting for scraps.

Number two, a cult-like audience. People who post about it every single week. When I posted about my skiing app, I got thousands of comments asking “what’s the app?” before it even existed.

Number three, cheap creators. If your niche has tons of creators, you’ll pay less per video. If creators are scarce, they charge a premium for every video. Fitness is a good example. There are so many fitness influencers that Cal AI was able to hire a bunch of them.

Number four, existing demand. When I checked the photo app space, the top retouching apps were already making millions. This one does an estimated two million dollars a month. If it already exists, good. It means people pay.

getting on the app store is faster than people make it sound.

you’ve probably heard review takes weeks. it doesn’t have to. most of the wait is rejections, and every rejection sends you to the back of the line.

so before you submit, make the reviewer’s job easy. a screen recording of your full app with captions. a demo login that works, no two-factor. your in-app purchases attached to the build, plus a restore button. and every agreement signed, including the updated paid apps agreement. that one got me rejected with no explanation.

if you still get rejected, don’t appeal. it takes about a week and you still have to resubmit. request a call with app review instead. almost nobody does it, and you hear every reason at once so you can fix it all in one build.

i’m 42 days in with two rejections. learn from mine.

day 13. a breakdown on the economics of my second real estate purchase. real estate is not a get rich quick scheme. with 5% down, this duplex doesn’t put money in my pocket every month yet. my tenants pay down the mortgage and the value slowly goes up, and that takes years. for me it’s not really a source of income. it’s my foundation. knowing i have something solid underneath me is what lets me go after my moonshots. that’s my thought anyway by @jordanbuilds
