Found my new favorite work spot in NoDa 💻☕️

The Hobbyist in Villa Heights has a big window bar, lots of natural light, and a calm vibe that makes it easy to study or knock out work for hours. When you're done, they also have craft beer, wine and a full bottle shop.

I ordered the Black Cherry Mont Blanc off the fall menu, and it was so good I forgot to take a picture 😅

LEGO is turning Symphony Park into a full-blown F1 experience this weekend, and it's completely free 🧱🏎️ Saturday Aug 29 and Sunday Aug 30, 10am to 6pm at Symphony Park (4400 Sharon Road).

Build a mini LEGO F1 car, test it in a real wind tunnel, then race it on the Thrill City Circuit. There's also a life-size LEGO Red Bull F1 car, a driver's license photo op, and a pit stop challenge. Best for ages 6-12 but honestly fun for everyone.

Heads up — the line can close early once they hit capacity, so get there early if you want in. Who's pulling up this weekend?

This might be one of Charlotte's biggest comeback stories 👀

Eastland Mall thrived for decades before it shut down in 2010 and got demolished in 2013 — the site sat empty for over a decade. Now East Charlotte just broke ground on the $67M Eastland Sports Campus: six full-size athletic fields, a 100,000 sq ft indoor facility with 10 basketball courts, expected to create 500 jobs and $169M in annual economic impact.

The full 80-acre Eastland Yards site includes 400+ apartments, senior housing, and a 4.5-acre park opening spring 2027 — and the city is actually subsidizing rent for local coffee shops and small businesses so they don't get priced out as it grows. Did you ever shop at the original Eastland Mall?

Charlotte's getting a taste of Dubai 🍫

Melt n Dip — the viral dessert chain known for stuffed crepes, sizzling brownies, and warm Belgian chocolate dips — is opening its very first North Carolina location at The Arboretum. It's taking over the old Omega Sports space (3,000 sq ft at 8036 Providence Rd) and riding the same "Dubai chocolate" wave that caused a global pistachio shortage last year.
