@jordanhamilton1 of @icanallstars is the men’s week 3 Player of the Week

For the second time this season, J went HAM to earn a POTW nod, stepping up in a big way in his team’s 98-82 win over @prosper_conquer. Don’t let the score fool you; this was a hard fought victory for I-Can. Despite leading by 17 points in the middle of the game, I-Can was forced to fend off a surging P&C team powered by a fierce rivalry between the two teams’ coaching staff and outstanding performance from P&C’s Josh Frazer (24p 6r 4a).

However, as Prosper closed the gap and even briefly stole the lead in the 3Q, Hamilton put his team on his shoulders, going into total takeover mode. 5 of his 9 assists came in the 4th as he used the threat of his scoring to draw defenders away from even bigger threats like 3-point sniper Terrell Gomez (18 points in the game, 13 in the 4th) and all-around standout Gerry Blakes (22p 3r 3a). And Hamilton did the dirty work too, pulling 5 of his 14 boards in the 4th. The league’s reigning MVP is maintaining an iron grip on the pole position for this year’s award by putting his team first, and playing big on both sides of the ball taken in King/Drew Magnet High School of Medicine and Science by @jordanhamilton1

PLAYER OF THE WEEK! @jordanhamilton1 (Mens)

I-Can All Stars’ @jordanhamilton1 is the week 1 Men’s Drew League Player of the Week

It’s only the first week, and J is already going HAM. I-Can All Stars’ comeback win over Undisputed Legends came largely on the spine of Jordan Hamilton’s characteristic efficiency (9-13 shots overall, 4-8 from three) and a healthy dose of unselfishness.

Of course, it’s easy to be unselfish when you’ve been with a team for so long. Saturday’s game was exemplary of I-Can’s hard-won chemistry, as the All Stars scrapped their way out of a first-half deficit to win three of four quarters, with 20 of Hamilton’s 30 points coming in the first half.

It didn’t hurt that he outsized his defender, Ivan Dooley, by a significant amount. A professional scorer, Hamilton leveraged his longer limbs to slither past Dooley’s stout defense, forcing fouls for the easy buckets his Undisputed counterpart was able to take away in the back half of the game.

Last year, Hamilton racked up multiple Player of the Game/Week honors, and with this win, he’s laid a strong foundation for a repeat performance this season. taken in King/Drew Magnet High School of Medicine and Science by @jordanhamilton1
