First workout back after a week at Disney. 20 minutes. One kettlebell. As many rounds as possible.

I think a lot of dads feel like getting in shape requires more time, more equipment, and a perfect routine, but most of us don’t have the luxury of waiting for the perfect conditions.

Some mornings, you’ve got 20 minutes before the kids wake up. Use it.

You don’t need a fancy gym or a complicated program. You just need something you can stick with, and the willingness to keep showing up.

Not every workout has to be your best. You just have to get back to it.

Dads, your family needs you healthy, strong, and present.

One day at a time. 👊

My longest run to date. 7 miles before the kids even wake up.

I would much rather run outside, but it’s pitch black out there when I run and I’ve seen way too many snakes, spiders and stray dogs on our property 😂

Also, running 7 miles with nothing but a blank, white wall in front of me makes me feel like I could run a marathon outside with some scenery. Haha

Anyway, I’m proud of how far I’ve come. Still a long way to go, but I’m gonna keep showing up.

This morning I had the honor of being asked to talk about Jesus with the students at Trion Middle and High School. I got to share part of my story with them, and talk about how Jesus doesn’t ask us to pursue perfection or look like we have it all together; He just wants us to to pursue Him (The One who is perfect).

However, the highlight of the morning was watching high school students rally the middle school students in groups to lead them in prayer as teachers and coaches joined as well. It was a beautiful picture of the fact that Jesus is the same from generation to generation: never changing, never failing, full of loving kindness and mercy.

Don’t write this generation off. They are hungry for something real in a world full of counterfeit, and there’s nothing more real than the love of Jesus. taken in Trion High School by @jordanteems
