On this day 20 years ago, Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans, LA. As we remember this devastation and honor those who lost their lives we can look to Xula rowing as a reminder of this cities resilience. As the first co-ed rowing program at a hbcu in New Orleans the timing of our program development is not lost on me. The same water that is healing my team and bringing us together has many hearts heavy today. I hope seeing our joy and gratitude this month for all those who made this varsity program a reality helps someone make it through the day.
