I must be a weirdo for measuring time by TdF editions 😅
Still emotionally hungover from last weekend so I wrote a short reflection about what it all means:

I had just arrived to Barcelona when it was announced that the Tour would depart from here. I remember July 2024 watching Pogi attacking on the steep gradients of San Luca and feeling that it was so distant until I got the chance to experience something similar. At the time Barcelona was just a new city.
Since then there have been some personal struggles, life forced me to start over from the beginning and I remember watching last year’s TdF from my parents’ living room and not knowing if I would come back to this place. Gladly I did, and even though I’m not where I thought I would be at 30yo and not really sure where I’m going, or sometimes even what I’m doing, life has been pretty kind to me ever since.
Within 2 years Barcelona went from being the place where the TdF would start to a home for me, strangers in lycra have become friends, and I like to believe that the little Portuguese kid that fell in love with this sport by spending every July watching the TdF with his mom is proud ❤️‍🩹

t-3 days to my first attempt on a 2.4 miles swim, a 112 miles bike ride, and a 26.2 miles run 😬
