He tenido el grandísimo honor de hacer la portada del nuevo número de @altarmutante , el mejor fanzine sobre horror y ciencia ficción de serie B de este plano de la existencia.
Y además de ello, ilustrando a los personajes de mi serie Korgus, que llevo publicando con ellos desde el número 4.

En este fanzine vais a encontrar la cara más grasienta de la ciencia ficción y el horror más putrefacto, aderezado con una dosis muy potente de tinta y actitud.

Hacía mucho tiempo que no ilustraba a color y ha sido un proceso arduo, pero estoy muy contento con el resultado final. Por supuesto no podían faltar sapos malignos en mi composición. Mi pequeño homenaje al diabólico Bobugbubilz, de Dungeon Crawl Classics.

Muy pronto habrá más noticias sobre Korgus y sus aventuras, pero mientras tanto, espero que esta portada os dé ganas de haceros con el nuevo número de @altarmutante .

I’m back! After a long time working on the new chapter of Korgus, Yesterday I finished the last page. It was tough, but it was worth it!

I’m back on illustration work for Goodman Games, making some cool stuff that I hope I can show you soon. But as I promised, here’s my last (and favorite) illustration for Swords of Fury. It’s my first full page for Dungeon Crawl Classics and I put everything on it. What do you think? Will they survive their encounter with the powerful Oediv and release the titans or will they die like poor peasants? Doruk Rocanorte, the dwarf, have had better times, but everything is possible when your friend is a priest of Justicia.

I’m very proud of this piece, I think that it has a good balance between action and composition, and I always love to add a big black shape on my illustrations. It makes them more interesting.

This is the last one for Swords of Fury, one of the Pinball Crawl Classics adventures, but I still have a couple of maps to upload. To avoid spoilers, im going to do it once we release the book or if they’re shown by Goodman Games. In the meantime I’ll be uploading more illustrations from other projects. I hope you like this one!

Yesterday I’ve been drawing toads and magic in @alitacomics , a local comic store in A Coruña. It was part of the “23th Encontro Gallego de Ilustración” hosted by @agpilustracion , the association of illustrators from Galicia.

It was my first time painting on glass with these acrylic markers. Of course I drew a couple of my toads. It was a fun experience, I hope you enjoy the result!

Actualmente traballa como artista 2D na compañía de videoxogos educativos Gimkit, ao tempo que ilustra libros de rol para Goodman Games, creadores de Dungeon Crawl Classics. Paralelamente a isto, segue debuxando a súa serie Korgus, que se publica anualmente en Altar Mutante.

I’M BACK!!
It’s been a difficult month but today the doctor finally removed my plaster. It’s weird to hold a pencil again but I think that I’m getting used to it! The following weeks I’ll be doing a lot of physiotherapy sessions to get back on my prime.
Thank you all for all your support and good wishes. I’m getting back on my projects and I hope to show new updates soon!

Take care of yourselves, guys, it’s not cool to break a bone.

GORGAR SPEAKS. BEAT ME!
This is the last illustration that I made for Pinball Crawl Classics: Gorgar, a DCC adventure by @goodmangames. I usually save the biggest illustration for the last, in order to condensate all the things that I learned reading the text and making the rest of the illustrations in just one picture. This full page works as an “inner cover” and pretends to show the best moment of the adventure.

It was an honor to draw Gorgar itself, an evil demon who is about to resurrect to sink the world in a new era of darkness. It wasn’t my intention, but the composition reminds me to the best heavy metal album cover ever, Iron Maiden’s The Number of the Beast. It’s quite different, but I like to think that it shares the same vibes.

For this one I tried to keep the same cross hatching texture that I used in the lizards illustration. It’s something that I’m still studying to improve in this old school style, but I’m happy with the result.

My favorite character is the “vald metal helmet” fighter. It’s the same guy that appeared in the lich iliustration. I think that I took the idea from Merlin in the Excalibur movie. On the other hand, the hardest thing to draw here was the dwarf. It was supposed to be a female dwarf but I’m not sure if people will notice. I got blocked with that character a lot of time. What do you think, does she look like a female?

Hey guys, just a quick update. Some of you already know, but for the rest, I broke my wrist ten days ago or so.
It was a little catastrophe because it is the right hand, so I can’t draw too much. I had to cancel most of my commissions and won’t get more work for two weeks. Fortunately the doctor told me that it’s a small bone and easy to heal, so I only have to wear this weird thing for two weeks more.

I cancelled all my stuff except two pieces for The Book of Funnels (by @goodmangames) that I already had pencilled. So, for those that will read the book, yeah I inked them with my broken wrist. I think that I’ll always remember these works because they were so hard.

I hope to get back to the normal soon. In the meantime I’ll be uploading some illustrations that I made these months. Thank you all for your support and good wishes. I’ll be BACK ✊🏻

I’m back to work on more books for Goodman Games. I’m currently illustrating a couple of adventures for The Book of Funnels, one of the last projects that they announced. The adventures are so fun, can’t wait to show you my illustrations and maps.

This one is for Gorgar; a random encounter that the PCs will have to face. These devil lizards are carrying some villagers to be sacrificed; the typical stuff that you can see when you’re traveling through another plane.
They are tough enemies, so I gave theme big muscles. Not bad for a lizard!

Boss fight! In Gorgar you’ll see more than demons and lizards. An evil lich awaits your party and will do everything to stop you.
When you do a lot of illustrations in a short time, sometimes happens that you’re tempted to repeat the same point of view or composition. This time I tried a top down view, since the boss is atop a slope.

Fortunately the wizard has something to protect her team from the darkness spell. And, with respect to that, I always say that black makes the drawings more interesting, so I tried to paint a big black stain for the darkness clouds.
I think that it makes the difference, what do you think?
