Thank you @ryanpfluger for these - they are a gift 🤍These pictures came to me while I was still recovering from my foot injury and elbow surgery. Since I wasn’t able to workout for about a year my body had changed quite a bit since the shoot. And I felt too insecure to post these while in my depression and healing process. I hid them. Soooo I just had my first news channel interview! YayMy parents were also interviewed which was so sweet. I edited my entering the chat and me talking about my current achievements to make it short and sweet. Thanks to my winning Best Actor of the Year Award at @indiexfest (which turned me into the first Puerto Rican to achieve that, and the first to do so while portraying a queer character) and my mom spreading the gospel, word got out and here we are. Gracias a @enlamananapr por la increíble oportunidad, su tiempo y su apoyo! JUST confirmed by @indiexfest I am the FIRST Puerto Rican to win their award for Best Actor of the Year - as well as the first actor to do so playing a QUEER character. During Pride, girl. I don’t know about you, but I’m from a tinny town inside a tinny island - this would have sounded like a made up story to the crew I grew up with. To them, this would be a fantastical story that’s not quite realistic. Una locuraaaaI’ve been asked by many to post my accepting of the award, and even though I wasn’t going to because of the length and how vulnerable I feel - fuck it I hope watching this video teaches you something new about me. And that it shows you how passionate I feel about performing. Acting is the funnest! Thank you to the beautiful lady that said ‘You deserve it’ I heard ya. And of course thank you for recording the closer takes of this video. That nose-blowing sound was cute 😙 by @jorgiegoico

These past few months have been achingly tough, and I almost allowed myself to swept this under the rug and turn my face away as I focused on “fixing” life first. NOPE, nope, gotta show up for myself. I need to stop, and look, and celebrate all the wins and honor my efforts. And this is a blessing.
