Two days ago I learned that I was awarded the Pollock Krasner Foundation Grant. Two days of shock and processing.

I am immensely grateful to the committee members of @pollockkrasnerfoundation for their support and trust in my work. Dear Lee, years and a small abyss separate us, but the passion and faith for art, especially painting, transcend any borders. That is why we continue to carry the torch here.

Thank you to everyone who also continued to believe in me and have been by my side in the most difficult moments. Especially to my partner @sara__bonache and of couse to Amy Adams (@adamsandollman ), Marie Catalano @mncatalano and Ana Perez Escoto (@peana_ ).

“In support of Lee Krasner’s mission to advance the work of visual artists, the Pollock-Krasner Foundation is honored to provide support to the growing list of #PKFGrantees and has awarded more than 5,200 grants totaling over $95 million across 80 countries to date.”

Stay Tuned 💦🍃✨

“The artist starts from a critical reflection on our time, that factory of wakefulness mentioned by Nietzsche and updated by Bonell. In an era of optimization and performance, sleep has been stripped of its revealing power to become pure hygiene of efficiency. Faced with this imperative, the figure of the insomniac stands as a resistor. But what happens when rest is impossible?”

Here some installation images of the exhibition. To see/ read the full documentation please visit @peana_ website 🌌

Yesterday, I received a wonderful visit from gallerymate @ralphpugay GREAT artist with incredible imagination, and a very, very funny guy.

We shared ink, brushes, thoughts, and papers with cold beers to refresh our spirits.

I invited him to do this “Brush Battle,” and he accepted happily. The results, those you can see here.

Truly a pleasure.

“I recently returned to the house where I grew up—my dad’s house, or rather, my mom’s house, or rather, my house. It’s mine now because she’s gone. I hadn’t set foot in that house in seven years, possibly even more—let’s say nine years. The most painful memory for me is in her bedroom, where we said goodbye to her. I often wonder if she was the heart of the house; without her, it began to wither away, reflecting my dad’s sadness and his way of existing in this world without her.”

This is how Rodrigo Ortiz Monasterio’s text begins for the exhibition he curated at Pedro Ramírez Vázquez’s House-Studio. It tells a story of a painful past—his own—filled with images that still linger, vividly defined like any object left under the June sun; in short, it is a story of ghosts. I imagine how this house-studio may have become an exorcism for him, an exercise in healing and reimagining a past that cannot be erased. Instead, it is about furnishing that past with new images, setting aside the unbearable ones, and establishing a new order. This exhibition is a gathering of new ghosts, a conjuring of fresh images in which we come together to create, in another place and space, the memory of a new home.

L’ensomni com a viatge, cap a on?

ENG “When Novalis composed his Hymns to Night, Charon had already relinquished his duties on the waters, and sleep had become the sole marker of crossing between shores. In this sense, the boat symbolized two eyelids closing, serving only to guide us to the “other side.” Sleep was envisioned as a journey—where to? To the garden where the blue flower patiently awaits us.”

Soon, a site-specific installation will occur in Solsona, turning a ruin into an oneiric garden.

“What fuels inspiration? Multiplication—a tiny drip—the endless creation of elements—like a faucet that hasn’t been fully turned off—an active machine, self-generating, waiting to be caught—uncontrolled pens, released from the grip of the polygraph, start to construct their own genuine lies.”
