Heading home after presenting a full day of workshops for the CanWest Veterinary Conference in beautiful Banff!

During my third session, which focused on self-compassion, the power went out, and the whole theater went dark! A first for me!

Apparently, the whole city was experiencing a power outage, so I made a game-time decision to keep presenting in the dark, no slides, just pure connection with the participants-and it was absolutely magical!

We honestly had the best time, a reminder that when life goes wrong, there’s still the chance to not only make the best out of the circumstance, but also, the error could actually be what makes the experience special and more meaningful.

I’m so grateful for how we collectively adapted-definitely will be one of my favorite experiences.

Head is tired but heart is full. 🥰🙏🏽

What a life. Here I am, in Palo Alto, for our first full day of the Compassion Immersion at Stanford University.

To be in a room with over 150 people, from all across the world, all focused on compassion cultivation, was truly something. 🥰

I’m here with Jyothi, which is wonderful, and I’ve already made some new connections, and there’s still two full days!

Angel & Zoe drive up today (yay!) so they’ll be here for the Compassion Showcase which Hatching was one of the selected to be featured here! 💜

I’m just feeling so, so grateful.

What a life.

So much to see, experience, and take in.

One more step into my Divine path. I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be.😮‍💨🙏🏽

All of it… I mean, all of it led to this weekend.

I wonder what will ripple from this? The possibilities are endless.🙃💪🏽 taken in Stanford University by @jose_ocano

Sunday Slowdown is getting a little refresh ✨️

What started as a space to slow down together on Sundays is becoming Pause on Purpose, a simple 15-minute opportunity to step away from doing all the things, check in with yourself, and practice the 333 Routine together.

Same intention. Same invitation to slow down. Just a new name that gives us a little more room to pause together... whatever day of the week we need it. by @jose_ocano

Planet earth is hard. There’s always lessons being learned, unforeseen and unplanned circumstances unfolding, and sometimes, your mouth drops to the floor with the sh*t we see and experience. 🫠

That’s why everyone needs a best friends like Manny Celaya. 💜 A friendship that has spanned over 25 years, and a reminder that family is often chosen.

Our lives continue to evolve and shift, sometimes in different directions, and yet, there’s something incredibly anchoring about having a friendship like this. Someone who REALLY knows you, and still chooses to see the best in you. What a gift to experience this type of friendship. 🥰

I hope this next year around the sun is filled with adventure, connection, and possibility!

Through his work at Alma Sana Chiropractic Studio, Dr. J is committed to helping people care for the whole person, body, mind, and nervous system. It's a philosophy that closely aligns with our mission at Hatching.

I didn’t expect to reconnect with so many people from different chapters of my life at this morning’s Más Compassion workshop for TUSD social workers.

First, I’m so grateful to my cousin, Araceli Olivas-Dixon, for being the bridge to this opportunity. ❤️

About an hour into the workshop, Angel and I realized our friend Lupita was in the room. She was one of the very first members of Mariachi Sol Azteca, and I don’t think I’ve seen her since middle school. It was so awesome to catch up!

And then there was Efraín.

The last time I saw him, I was probably in fifth grade. He’s the stepfather of my childhood best friend. Seeing him today filled my heart in a way I didn’t expect. We shared a conversation that left me pretty emotional because it truly felt like one of those full-circle moments.

Sometimes you think you’re showing up to teach or facilitate, and instead life reminds you where you come from and all the people who helped shape the person you’ve become

We are Tucson bound!

Tomorrow, we’ll be facilitating the Más Compassion Experience™ for a group of local school social workers as they prepare to kick off a new school year.

What makes this even more special is that it’s for TUSD, the school district that helped raise me.

As I’ve been thinking about tomorrow, I keep finding myself thinking about my teachers.

Dr. Romero. Sra. Melendez. Dr. V. Ms. Gibson.

They believed in me before I fully believed in myself. They challenged me, encouraged me, and saw something in me worth investing in. Looking back, I realize they weren’t just teaching lessons. They were shaping what I believed was possible.

I know there are countless kids walking into classrooms this year who need someone to see them, believe in them, and remind them that they matter. Teachers, counselors, and school social workers do that work every single day.

Tomorrow, we have the privilege of pouring into some of those helpers.

If our workshop gives them even a little more space to breathe, reconnect with themselves, and begin the school year feeling supported, then mission accomplished!

To every educator who has ever believed in a kid before they believed in themselves, thank you!

A little clip from today’s keynote at the National Animal Care & Control Association Summit.

I love hearing the harp alongside the chatter of people connecting in real time.

Several people came up to me afterward to share what a great experience they had. The harp, the message, the feeling of it all.

What a beautiful way to spend Hatching’s three-year anniversary-I am so damn grateful for this opportunity. 🙏🏽❤️🌈
