Going to the land my grandparents are from has always been a dream of mine. I think any Moluccan person in the Netherlands shares that dream. So getting to go, and also being able to go with my family, made this trip incredibly special.

Growing up I was always jealous of the "real" Moluccan girls in our neighborhood. The ones who spoke the language and seemed to really be connected, whereas I always felt like a bit of a Moluccan "fraud". I looked a bit too white, didn't really speak the language and I was just too shy.

Because of this I was kind of scared of what it would end up being like to go to Maluku. Would I have this amazing "homecoming" feeling everyone talks about?

Well to be honest.. I didn't.
But looking back on it now I can appreciate the trip so much. We met so many family members and being able to walk on the island that my grandparents were from was so special. I feel less of a fraud.. and more like a small piece of something bigger.

We also made a little vlog about this trip, which I posted on my YouTube channel! And I have another one coming out.

Thank you to @backyard.suli for the photo 🥰 by @joseffa

Did such a fun ad for @intuit! I'd say we captured the cheesy Christmas movie vibes pretty well 🎄✨️

Went to NY Comic Con as Lofi Girl, with my speaker sending out chill beats 🎵 I was kind of scared people weren't going to recognize it, but so many people did! What made it so special was that a lot of people ended up telling me how much Lofi Girl meant to them and how much the channel helped them. It was such a fun and cool experience!

Thank you @branden_skeli for taking this pic!
