It has taken me years to do this post… but here I am getting back to the online world after 6 weeks offline travelling in Asia.

One of my goals for this year is to share more about who i am and my work online, and find the fun in designing reels and posts. Cause I’ve struggled with showing myself here and organizing content.

So here I am, posting imperfectly, and feeling cringe until I get used to it 🫠

My favorite outfit is the one I redesigned 🤗

Learning to upcycle changed how I see every single piece I own. Suddenly nothing turns “old,” it’s just waiting for its next life.

If you’re in Berlin, @josefina__studio is the place to learn I take regular Upcycling classes there and can’t recommend it enough.

We filmed this during their Berlin Fashion Week event at @alexacentre which was super fun and interesting to try several techniques like dyeing and embroidery. I loved it 😍 and hope that happens again soon.

On 3 & 4 July we’ll be running 3 FREE open upcycling workshops during @alexacentre Sustainability Week and Fashion Week:

✨ Creative repair with @santo_cielo
✨ Upcycled keychains with @therapy_berlin

You can bring clothes you’d love to customise, repair or add metals to, or you can use donated material from Alexa’s brands.

No registration needed — First come, first served.

One of the biggest sewing superpowers is learning how to copy and redesign clothes you already love.

Next Tuesday in the Redesigner Drop-In Class, we’ll learn how to trace the pattern of a top, redesign it, and use the material of something else to create a new original piece.

These were all made by students during the course, using other tops, leggings, fabric scraps, shirts.

If you already know the basics of sewing, you can join this class without committing to the full 8-week course.

Just cutting out parts of something tight and hemming them can go a long way ✂️

Basic pieces for me mean that you can wear with everything, not that they have to be boring ;)

Get a pair of fabric scissors and start playing around, see where it takes you 🤓
