Thirty shows, and this summer tour comes to a beautiful close tomorrow. Every night, just before I walk on stage, I say to myself, “I can’t believe we get to do this.” I think about the stories I’ve heard from people that day, stories of heartbreak and loss, love and life, and I carry them with me as I walk out. And then something happens and I’m free. I’m unlocked to feel every lyric as I sing them. To play like a boy on stage. I am a boy on stage. The hope is I’m purely in the moment, like when I rode my dirt bike around my old neighborhood on my way to the jumps, with my Walkman. So I play. I feel. I sing. I dance and I’m not a dancer. I leave everything I have up there, because these songs deserve it, and even more, the greatest fans in the world deserve it. Thank you for feeling this light together. Thank you for sharing yours with me.

And to the people in my life who help me believe anything is possible, who remind me of the greater purpose when I lose sight of it, I’ve needed you. Thank you. Keep those ones close and keep dreaming. #summeroflight by @josekingseco
