🇺🇸🎬 Another stop for DAWO in the United States!

We are very happy to announce that DAWO has been selected as a Semi-Finalist at the Florida Shorts Film Festival. 🌴🎥

After an incredible journey through festivals in Europe and Asia, and our first recognition in California, we are thrilled to see DAWO continue expanding its path across the United States — this time in Florida.

A film made with limited resources, but with an extraordinary team, enormous commitment, and a story that keeps finding new audiences around the world. Every new selection gives this journey another reason to celebrate.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of DAWO and continues supporting its international festival run. The journey continues. 🖤🎬

We are beyond happy to officially announce that DAWO has won the award for BEST THRILLER at the Stockholm Short Film Festival 2026 🇸🇪🏆🎬

For those who know the story behind Material Cinema, you know how meaningful this moment truly is for us. We are incredibly happy that Odin has given us our first award in this journey, and even more emotional that this recognition comes from a place as important to our story as the capital of Sweden.

This journey began last year with DAWO — a short film made with minimal resources, but with a level of talent, passion, commitment, and positive energy that simply has no price.

There is still a long road ahead for this film, and honestly, we feel this process and this story are only just beginning.

We also want to deeply thank @Gritnova.globalcampus for believing in this project and making this collaboration possible through the International Film Production Scholarship Program.

Thank you to every single person who believed in DAWO from day one. This award belongs to the entire team that made this possible.

@materialcinema We are thrilled to officially announce that DAWO has been selected for the Tokyo Lift-Off Film Festival 2026 🇯🇵🎬

Honored to be part of the @liftoffglobalnetwork community and to share our work with audiences in one of the most influential cinematic cultures in the world.

Our admiration for Japanese culture and its contributions to cinema is undeniable. From visual storytelling and atmosphere, to discipline, symbolism, and cinematic language, Japan has inspired generations of filmmakers around the globe — ourselves included.

For that reason, having our work screened in Tokyo is not only an honor, but a true delight for our entire team. Being able to access new audiences, industry spaces, and potential co-production tables within the Japanese and Asian market represents a very meaningful milestone for Material Cinema.

DAWO was developed and produced within the Cohort of the International Film Production Scholarship Program by @Gritnova.globalcampus — a collaboration that made this film possible.

Thank you to everyone who believed in this project from day one. No matter what happens next in this festival journey, for us this already feels like a victory.

Stay tuned to our social media for updates and news about DAWO’s international festival run.
