One thing about life is that at the start of any journey, you never really know how it will finish. That’s why every single day should be lived with joy, gratitude, and purpose until your last breath.

When I started my Fire/EMS career, I had no idea where the road would lead. But God had a plan bigger than anything I could imagine. Not only did I get to live a dream, but my son got to experience it too. That’s a blessing I’ll never take for granted.

The seeds you plant in life always take time to grow. There are seasons of hard work, faith, patience, and trusting the process. But when the fruit finally comes, it’s far more beautiful and rewarding than you ever expected.

Everything you see me and my family accomplishing is by the glory and favor of God — a blessing that no man can stop.

God, I just want to say thank you… because this is still only the beginning. 🙏🏾🙏🏾

“Disoriented Firefighter” Self Rescue
For those who may not be familiar, this training focused on “Smooth Bump, Bump to the Pump”. Learning how to locate the hose coupling while completely blacked out and identify your exit point, using the pump outside the structure as your reference. Took me approximately 20 mins to locate.

This drill is designed to strengthen firefighter awareness, orientation, and self-rescue skills while operating in low-visibility and disorienting conditions.

The goal is to build muscle memory, situational awareness, and the ability to stay calm and focused under pressure while navigating an unfamiliar environment. I was reminded of two mistakes I made.

1.) Don’t lose contact with the hose
2.) Don’t lose contact with my pack
