It May 🤗•••A couple months ago I turned 30 and completely freaked out. I had an idea to try and find a way to make it not so scary, and I’m so thankful my dear friend @benji_riv said yes to a little photo shoot. Father’s Day.This past week I got to do something really special with my dad. By what feels like a miracle, we scored tickets to the #FifaWorldCup and got to go to a match together. My dad is a (secret) huge soccer fan and watching him get so excited to be there was the best. Getting to spend quality time with him one-on-one is rare and so special. I’m so grateful we got to make it happen. I am so much of who I am because of my dad. My goofy side, my work ethic, my discipline, my devotion and integrity, my patience, my sensitivity, and my deep capability to love all stem from my dad. I’m so lucky and so proud to be his son. Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there. I hope you got to make new memories or relive old, wondrous ones today. Sending you a big hug. by @josephfierceberg

FIDDLER ON THE ROOF - @sigtheatre Tonight are the Helen Hayes Awards honoring countless exceptional artists in the vibrant DC theatre community. Fiddler has been nominated for several awards so I wanted to share some gorgeous production photos (that I’ve neglected to post on my grid cuz I’m a terrible procrastinator/struggle with being social on social media) taken by @danielraderphoto + @christopher_mueller. The more I’ve reflected on this production, the (even) prouder I’ve become of the magnificent art we created for four months. Endless thanks to our (nominated!) visionary director @joecalarco, the ever cool and ever brilliant (nominated!) @sfp9589, to @kerry_epstein for steering this ship, and @mattcgardiner and @maggieannboland for making it all happen. I think what we created was beautiful, bursting with heart, and brought so much happiness (and tears) to so many people. Tbh, it’s been hard to talk about Fiddler/this experience because sometimes you work on shows that are very close to home. But for me, Fiddler IS home. It’s a very specific, yet very universal expression of my faith, my culture, my heritage, my tradition. And I feel so lucky to have finally been a part of my first professional production of it with some of the most generous and big-hearted folks in the biz. One of those folks is nominated tonight for his performance: the GREAT @sillsla. I’ve never met anyone like you, Douglas, and I want to (as publicly as this app allows) declare my deep admiration for you. I’ve never worked with anyone that captivates an entire audience the way you do. The way you can have them keeling over with laughter one moment, and sobbing the next. Over and over again. How your performance was so live and also so Alive every night. You are a wonder (of wonders) and it feels like a miracle that I got to work with you because you made me fall in love with theatre all over again. You are a true master of your craft, and what’s even better is you’re also a mensch. You took incredible care of all of us and we are forever grateful. We love you forever, Papa. Tradition. 🎻 •••A shtetl iz amerike…and so is Anatevka! ;) (thank you @jonathancobrda for the joke, iykyk)Excited to be working on this production at such an excellent theatre. First day of school is in the books, but I couldn’t post this photo - on this day - without acknowledging a couple things. Today is the first day of the Jewish festival of Sukkot (I gotta go shake a lulav and have a meal in a Sukkah!), as well as a very dark and mournful day - 2 years since the horrific violence that occurred on October 7. A day that Jews around the world still remember and take pause. I’ve felt at odds all day thinking about what is going on in the Middle East, what is going on in this country, and what is going on in this musical. It’s a lot. We discussed today in rehearsal how they’re all in conversation with each other. So I hope that by working on this show, and for those that come and witness it, we can contribute to that conversation in a meaningful way and offer what theatre does best: knowledge, understanding, empathy, and light. There are people hurting all over the world and it’s absolutely devastating. So I pray we can preserve our humanity and hold space for all that pain and that sorrow, as well as the joy and the hope. “One season following another, laden with happiness and tears.” 🌅 🌄 by @josephfierceberg

In celebration of @achorusline50, a little throwback to when we did ACL @cincyplay (circa 2023).BETWEEN THE LINES party. Everyone knows the dancers on the line, so we did something very fun and verrrrry dumb and threw a party where everyone had to dress up as a character you never actuallyyyy see, but is mentioned in the show via the dialogue (hence btwn the lines).This company went full out, of course, and here are snippets of the night with whatever I just found on my camera roll lol It’s very iykyk ;) Miss this bunch of kooks so much. “The era of Ragtime had run out”….…(exactly one month ago 🙈)Little/belated Ragtime dump from my time @goodspeedmusicals. What a truly special experience. It was so great getting to perform at home in CT with sooooo many friends and family coming to see the show. I was super proud of our production. A lot of blood, sweat, and tears went into this one. For those that were able to make it, thank you and I hope you took something meaningful and urgent away from watching this story on stage. Shoutout to this cast for bringing every ounce of their talent, generosity, and heart to the stage every night. I loved our moments on AND offstage. It was wild, actually ;)Huge thank you to everyone at Goodspeed, particularly our absolutely brilliant leaders @christopherdbetts + @adamnsouza + @sara_cathleen (thank you for trusting me to be Dance Captain - my first time!) And speaking of that, I could not have done anything without @laurendattis + @ashley.coia. I bow to thee.
