Sometimes the best moments are the simplest: a chilled Vermentino (IGP Provence), a spread of Marseille classics, and the golden light of the South of France. ☀️🌊First, the star: panisses 🥘 a true @villemarseille specialty. These golden fritters are made from chickpea flour, cooked into a thick batter, then cut and fried until crisp outside and soft inside. Simple, humble, and completely addictive.Alongside, a colourful board of Provençal spreads to pile onto toasted bread:🔴 a beetroot "caviar" - earthy and slightly sweet🟠 a roasted pepper & tomato dip - smoky and bright🟢 an aubergine caviar - smooth and smoky🫒 a herby olive tapenade - salty and full of Mediterranean punchAnd here's the little wine moment: the panisses are gloriously salty, so that crisp, fresh Vermentino did exactly what it should - its acidity cut right through the salt and the fried richness, refreshing the palate between every bite. Humble food, simple wine, perfect match. 🍷A wine by the water, the boats and the sunset at the Vallon des Auffes in Marseille. Sometimes that's all you need - this is the good life.Happy Wednesday, and happy summer to all of you my friends 😎 What's your simple pleasure on holiday? 👇🍷Cheers! 🥂#marseille #vallondesauffes #vermentino #food #winenightPlease drink responsibly 🍷 by @josephitserp

Back in Paris for a few days - family and friends time, a short French break… and one of the first things I did? Grab a bottle of Bourgueil. Some wines just tell you you're home. 🇫🇷🍷I've always had a soft spot for this Loire Valley appellation, so tasting it again with a friend during France's last World Cup match felt exactly right. Bourgueil 2024 - Paul Buisse (AOP Bourgueil, Loire Valley)🍇 Grape: 100% Cabernet Franc (12% ABV), from the terraced vineyards on the right bank of the Loire. In the glass: An intense ruby robe with youthful purple glints, clear and bright, with light tears - announcing a supple, fruit-driven wine.On the nose: First nose of fresh red fruit - raspberry, redcurrant, Morello cherry. Swirling reveals the Cabernet Franc signature: crushed peppercorn, a discreet leafy, slightly wild edge, a touch of violet and a whisper of vanilla. Clean, precise, varietal. On the palate: A supple, fresh attack on crunchy red fruit, a light-to-medium body carried by very fine, silky tannins - still tight-grained, as expected at this age - and a saline, peppery finish of decent length. Lovely acidity keeps it energetic. Best at cellar temperature (15°C) now; another year or two will round it out further.🌿 Pairing: A true all-rounder - charcuterie, grilled red meat, cheeses… or simply a bowl of snacks in front of a big match. That's the Loire way.Coming back to a glass of Bourgueil after months away: that's how I know I'm really back in France. 🥖Bon dimanche à tous ! ☀️What's the one wine that instantly feels like home to you? 👇🍷#bourgueil #cabernetfranc #loirevalleywine #frenchstyle #vinparisPlease drink responsibly 🍷 by @josephitserp

Yesterday I tasted a young Verdejo for the first time in ages… and it reminded me of a bottle patiently waiting in my cellar. Time for a little experiment ⏳I bought this Nuestro Verdejo 2021 (Serie Limitada, DO Rueda) back in 2022, when I was just starting my wine journey in Amsterdam. A limited edition from a parcel selection of three named vineyards ; Finca Los Almendros, El Pinar and Los Guindos, so I decided to tuck it away and see how it would age.Let's be honest: it was a gamble. Rueda Verdejo is usually drunk young and fresh, within its first couple of years.Verdict? Transformed and mostly for the better. 🤔🍷🍇 Grape: 100% Verdejo (13% ABV).In the glass: A deep golden hue, you can literally see the years, glowing in the evening light. On the nose: The fresh citrus and fennel of its youth are gone. In their place: ripe stone fruit, honey, toasted almond, a touch of beeswax. More complex, quieter. On the palate: Rounder and more textured than a young Verdejo, with candied citrus and a nutty, slightly oxidative edge. The acidity is softer now, but still holds everything together with that signature bitter-almond twist on the finish. Is it better than young Verdejo? Not better, different. It traded vibrancy for depth. And honestly, that trade fascinated me.Have you ever held onto a white wine for years just to see what would happen? 👇🍷Happy sunday dear Friends😎🥂#verdejo #agewine #whitewine #wijnwijnwijn #wineloverPlease drink responsibly 😊 by @josephitserp

Seafood pasta or truffle cream? That was tonight's dinner dilemma! 🤔I was initially tempted by a rich pasta dish with a heavy truffle cream sauce, but to let tonight’s wine choice truly shine, I finally opted for a fresh seafood pasta instead. And what a pairing it turned out to be! 🦐🥂The star of the evening was the beautiful Pouilly-Fumé 'Les Closiers' 2024. At a perfect 12.5% ABV, this 100% Sauvignon Blanc is a masterclass in Loire Valley elegance. In the glass, it shows a bright, pale gold color with beautiful clarity. On the nose, it opens up with a vibrant bouquet of crisp citrus think grapefruit 🍊 and lime zest 🍋 mingled with delicate white flowers 🌸 and green apple 🍏. Of course, that signature flinty smoke is right there, adding wonderful depth. On the palate, it’s beautifully structured. The attack is sharp and clean, driven by a refreshing, racy acidity that cuts right through the richness of the seafood. It finishes long, dry, and incredibly mineral, leaving a clean, salty touch that calls for the next bite. The freshness of the seafood combined with the wine's vibrant profile made it an absolute dream match! What about you? What did you pour to start the week right? 👇#sauvignonblanc #wijn #winenight #winepairing #winetasting by @josephitserp

Last night, my plate flew off to India, homemade vegetable biryani on the menu, while my glass stayed quietly in Alsace 🇫🇷🍷🌶️ Edmond Rentz Riesling 2020 — Alsace🍷 78% of you voted "It works" wine that's all about freshness and minerality.🍇 Grape: 100% Riesling (13% ABV).In the glass: A pale yellow with golden highlights, bright and inviting. On the nose: Fine and expressive, lemon, grapefruit, white peach and white flowers, over a flinty mineral base.On the palate: Dry, lively and taut, carried by a chiselled acidity and a saline finish that keeps you coming back. Best served chilled (8-10°C).🌿 Pairing: The dream partner for Indian food! Its freshness refreshes the palate between spicy bites, while its fruit tames the heat. Magic with biryani, but also with fish or seafood.Kudos to the 75% of you who called it! For the rest, would you try the Riesling + Indian food pairing next time? 😊👇#winetime #whitewine #wijn #riesling #indianfoodloversPlease drink responsibly 🍷 by @josephitserp

33°C in Amsterdam today, 36 tomorrow… I think Amsterdam forgot it's in the Netherlands. 🥵 To survive this weather matrix glitch, I had to bring out the big guns: a crisp organic white straight from the fridge. ❄️🍷My rescue bottle? The Saint Roche Blanc from Domaine de Tavernel. Grower-producer, estate-bottled and farmed organically since 1987, it reflects all the warmth of its southern French roots.☀️🍷 Saint Roche Blanc - Domaine de Tavernel (IGP Gard)🍇 Grapes: An original blend of Rolle (Vermentino) & Muscat (13% ABV).In the glass: A pale, luminous yellow, bright and inviting. On the nose: A vibrant bouquet of exotic fruit (pineapple, mango, lychee) lifted by subtle hints of thyme and aniseed. Fresh and expressive. On the palate: Lively and thirst-quenching, with juicy exotic fruit carried by a crisp acidity. Best served well chilled (around 11°C) to bring out all its freshness.🍽️ Pairing: Wonderful as an aperitif, or alongside summer salads, grilled vegetables, seafood or lightly spiced exotic dishes. A lovely supermarket gem to survive the heat!Whether you're cooling down from the heat or simply chasing a little sunshine in a glass, this is a refreshing escape to the South of France..And you, what's your in-glass heatwave plan today? 🥂👇#whitewine #summer #winetasting #wijn #winetime💧 Remember to drink water during the heatwave⚠️ L'abus d'alcool est dangereux pour la santé, à consommer avec modération / Excessive alcohol consumption is harmful to your health. by @josephitserp

Hey friends 👋🍷Just a short comeback post. I had to set my wine passion aside for a while, work took over. But the love for it never really left. 😊And what better way to come back than a World Cup night with friends? A match on the screen, good food on the table, and the simple joy of being all together again. ⚽We started with the bubbles: the Bellacini Prosecco Frizzante (Millesimato).✨ The look: pale straw yellow, with fine, delicate bubbles.👃 The nose: green apple, pear, white flowers and a hint of citrus.😋 The palate: lively and light, nicely fruity, with a fresh, thirst-quenching finish. The perfect toast to a reunion. 🥂Then, with the meal, a Coteaux Bourguignons Chardonnay 2024, straight from Burgundy.✨ A pale gold robe with bright highlights.👃 A nose that opens on white peach, citrus and a touch of tropical fruit.😋 A round, supple palate, full of ripe fruit, with a clean, fresh finish. An easy, generous white lovely with our homemade tartines. 🍞No fuss. Just good wine, good friends and a good match. That's exactly what I had missed. It feels good to be back. 🧡#wijn #chardonnay #winelover #burgundy #winetime by @josephitserp

Wonderful friday my friends !! 😎Earlier this week, I took advantage of the beautiful weather here in Amsterdam and settled into one of my favorite bars... to soak up some sun 😅 Although rosé isn't usually my first choice, I was delighted to sip on a bottle of La Belle Angèle 🍷.Nestled in the picturesque Languedoc-Roussillon region, the vineyard of La Belle Angèle stretches under an almost always blue sky ☀️. This rosé is crafted from Grenache and Cinsault grapes, which fully benefit from the Mediterranean climate to reach perfect maturity. With an alcohol content of 12.5%, La Belle Angèle Rosé epitomizes lightness and freshness 🌸.Visually, it sports an elegant pale pink color 🎨. The nose is charmed with aromas of fresh red fruits like raspberry and wild strawberry, complemented by subtle hints of white flowers. On the palate, it is refreshing and balanced, with a fine acidity that highlights the fruity flavors and ensures a lasting and pleasant finish. For a successful aperitif, I recommend pairing it with smoked salmon canapés 🐟, mini vegetable quiches 🥦, or cherry tomato and mozzarella skewers 🍅🧀. These pairings will enhance the freshness and delicate flavors of the rosé.To simply enjoy a beautiful day, La Belle Angèle Rosé will be an excellent choice 🌟#rose #labelleangele #LanguedocRoussillon #tasting #Amsterdam #winebar #wine #grenache #cinsault #Frenchwine #instawine #wineinfluencer #aperitif #wijn #winewinewine #winetime by @josephitserp

Happy Tuesday friends 😊🥂Last week, I had the pleasure of catching up with some French friends who came to visit me in Amsterdam. We decided to dine out. The idea? To choose a nearby pizzeria that was one of the highest-rated on Google Maps... and what a terrible mistake that was! 😅 Despite a very disappointing overall experience (my friend gave it a 1/5 on Google 😂), our choice of wine turned out to be our only triumph: the Colpasso Nero d'Avola 2022 Sicilia Appassimento 🌟🍇.Nestled in the heart of Sicily, Colpasso Estate is renowned for its expertise in the 'appassimento' method, which concentrates the flavors of the grapes by slightly drying them before winemaking. This age-old technique produces an exceptionally rich and aromatic wine, featuring Nero d'Avola, the star varietal of the region. Tasting Notes:🍷 Appearance: A deep, almost mystical ruby with captivating purple highlights.👃 Nose: An opulent bouquet of ripe black fruits such as plums and black cherries, enhanced with touches of vanilla, dark chocolate, and a hint of leather, showcasing the richness of its oak barrel aging.😋Palate: The first sip reveals a full and rounded body, where velvety tannins perfectly intertwine with refreshing acidity. The dominant flavors of jammy fruits are complemented by notes of black pepper, nutmeg, and a subtle hint of roasted coffee.Finish: Persistent and elegant, it surprises with its complexity, leaving traces of dried fruits, sweet spices, and a delicate balsamic touch that invites another sip.Remember, dear wine lovers, sometimes the choice of wine can transform an ordinary meal into an extraordinary experience! 🍴💫Cheers friends 🥂😊#wine #wijn #food #winetime #winemoments #winelover #nerodavola #sicily #vino #winetasting #winewinewine #wijnen #winenight #winepairing #wineoclock #winelife #instawine by @josephitserp
