What an amazing few days celebrating my mother’s birthday in Philly and NYC! I’m so glad me and my brother @timmytimmyturner08 were able to pull off this trip and celebrate the woman who continues to give us the world and speak life into us everyday.Thank you momma for your selflessness. I would choose you to be my mother in every lifetime, without question. I love you forever and I’m so excited for this new decade of life and opportunity for you. The Theater Offensive strikes gold at the 61st Society of Publication Designers (SPD) Awards for our in-house publication (still) offensive.We’re honored to receive 5 Merit Awards across custom print, photography, and redesign, a finalist nod for our homepage, and Gold for Web/HTML Typography.But this recognition is about more than awards. It speaks to the power of collaboration, queer storytelling, and independent publishing. It reflects what it means for a nonprofit cultural organization to build and sustain a publication rooted in community voice and a commitment to telling our stories on our own terms.(still) offensive exists because of the artists, writers, designers, and collaborators who bring it to life, and because of a community that believes in the necessity of telling our own stories on our own terms.We are deeply grateful to our collaborators, contributors, readers, and the SPD judges for this incredible honor.Swipe through to read reflections from the team, and stay tuned for more from this special night. by @josephvalente

The Theater Offensive is a co-producer on a @thetonyawards -winning production.What an honor to represent this organization and Boston on a production so deeply aligned with our mission, values, and commitment to queer liberation. To witness this work be celebrated on Broadway’s biggest stage is a powerful reminder that authentic queer stories, culture, and artistry belong at the center.As @catsjellicleball reminds us, we make magic wherever we go. We make do, we make beautiful, and we create the spaces our people most need. We honor the kitchens, piers, community centers, and gathering places where queer people have always found one another. We remember and uplift the stories that shaped us because we refuse to be disappeared or forgotten.Congratulations to every artist, designer, producer, technician, and collaborator who brought Cats: The Jellicle Ball to life. A recap of last week’s Queering the Screen 🎬 at the Coolidge Corner Theatre.Our feature presentation, Move Ya Body: The Birth of House, captivated a sold-out audience from the opening credits. Together, we laughed, cried, cheered, and reflected while learning about the rich history of House music and the enduring impact of the pioneers whose stories are featured in the film.We were especially honored to welcome director Elegance Bratton and producer Chester Algernal Gordon for the screening. Thank you to everyone who joined us, and a special thank you to Elegance and Chester for sharing their insights during a thoughtful post-film conversation moderated by our very own Joseph V. Queering the Screen is BACK, hunni!We’re thrilled to continue this beloved partnership with Coolidge Corner Theatre and keep bringing queer cinema, conversation, and community together under one roof.This month’s featured screening is Move Ya Body: The Birth of House, directed by Elegance Bratton and featuring Lena Waithe, Kevin Aviance, and Malik Shakur.This vibrant and essential documentary celebrates the Black queer underground music scene in Chicago that gave birth to house music as we know it. It’s joyful, revolutionary, sweaty, soulful, and deeply rooted in the brilliance of queer cultural creation.Join us on May 28 at the Coolidge for the screening, followed by a post-film Q&A with director Elegance Bratton and producer Chester Algernal Gordon, moderated by Joseph V.
