Well, this just happened... BAH HUMBUG is a SLAMDANCE FINALIST! 🎄🐛
Nearly 5,000 scripts were submitted to this year’s Slamdance Screenplay Competition. 15 finalists remain, and Bah Humbug is 1 of only 3 finalists in the horror/thriller category!
It’s pretty surreal seeing my holiday horror comedy make it all the way to the finals. HUGE thank you to Slamdance and its readers for believing in my strange story about mind-controlling parasites cocooning in Christmas trees!
Guess I’m headed to LA in a few weeks! ✈️ by @josgarrett

I’m THRILLED to share that Bah Humbug has been named a Semifinalist in the Slamdance Screenplay Competition! Out of nearly 5,000 screenplay submissions, only 32 scripts advanced to the semifinals, and Bah Humbug is 1 of just 8 semifinalists in the Horror/Thriller category!

Slamdance is internationally recognized for discovering emerging talent and supporting bold, independent storytelling, so having Bah Humbug make it this far is incredibly exciting.

I'm so grateful to see this script continue to receive recognition, and excited to see what comes next! by @josgarrett

Huge THANK YOU to @pageturnerscreenplays for selecting Bah Humbug as a Quarterfinalist in their Genre Mash-Up category! As a horror-comedy with some sci-fi, young adult, Christmas, and Hanukkah thrown into the mix, this category feels like a pretty perfect place for Bah Humbug. 🎄🕎🪰

So excited and grateful to see this crazy Christmas story continuing to resonate beyond the page! by @josgarrett

I just finished writing my destination romcom Maybe in Mexico a couple of weeks ago, so I’m especially excited to share it’s first bit of festival news: it’s a Finalist at the Cambridge Script Festival!
I entered on a whim right before the deadline, and I’ve not entered it in any other competitions. So this was a wonderful surprise!

I'm excited to share that my horror-comedy screenplay, Bah Humbug, has been named a Quarterfinalist in both the @networkisa @emergingscreenwriters Horror Competition AND their Family & Holiday Competition! These categories might not seem like they belong together, but hey, genres are like throw pillows: there's always room for one more!
Many thanks to the judges and everyone who has supported this script along the way. Onward to the next round! by @josgarrett
