When asked to be apart of a show celebrating americas 250 years, my first thoughts were I’ll hold off. Then going through my art I have available I came by this piece that was inspired by “The Persistence of Memory” by Dali. Not a whole lot I saw but the clock and thought about time. It led me to painting “The Persistence of Time” and what it looks like for so many people in my culture and what I represent for chicanos I wanted to share that. Time is a lot and a lot of that time is behind bars with no other option but to adapt to the American system we want free from.
