Mr. Gadson do you even know how to play the game?!

16hr days for 7years straight at one point teaching myself art direction through owning a clothing line. 5years of 60hour weeks as an agency employee in Chicago and NYC, now I’m in year 3 of independently owning and operating my own agency @theunsurfaced_ … I don’t talk about what I “do” often and these images are only a small peak inside. I had nobody that could show me the game I’m playing, I just have had faith in God and the ultimate unwavering belief in myself. I have been blessed to have supremely successful and talented people pour into me and give me game, I have had the ultimate support from my parents, I have the best team in the world. I know I didn’t get here alone; I’m grateful for every person who poured into me and spoke my name in rooms I wasn’t in. I’m especially grateful to every client who has put their trust in what I’m building with Unsurfaced™️… s/o my brother @johnniefresh for opening my mind to the possibilities, s/o @theegilkey for introducing me to the game that got me into the culture. Special thanks to my brother @quorisenyon 15years ago the vision was born in your tattoo room, i’ll never forget the way you made me view art. And can’t forget @easyotabor and @nuccinu giving me books on business and gems on how to do art for commerce, i used that knowledge as the foundation to build from.

This story is deep and will one day make sense—that’s if it doesn’t already. A kid from englewood that found his way out. Genius hides in plain sight 🫴🏾 Manus Occulta by @joshbefresh

The Weekly Read by Unsurfaced™ is our editorial deep dive into the stories shaping cultural shifts across the industries we navigate and serve every day.

Each issue takes the week’s news, moments and movements from our DAILY content engine and turns them into a read you can act on: what surfaced, what it means, what to do, and what we watch next. From our desk to your download queue.

This week: 84 stories, 7 editions, 16 sources, 3 recurring threads, and five patterns underneath them. Culture took the camera off this week. Here is what that looks like.

Unsurfaced™ presents The Weekly Read, September 21 to 27, 2026. Download the full issue at the link.

Over a year in the making, our community mural project by @bluethegreat in collaboration with @ramsinthecommunity and @rams is live at Figueroa St. Elementary!

Blue’s biggest mural project to date (90x18 ft) took us to Inglewood, CA to plant a seed we hope to water for years to come at Figueroa St. Elementary.

Hand painted, all buckets and no cans 🤯. A labor of love, and only possible with the leadership and support of our squad on the ground.

This project was not possible without the help of some of the best in the business! @afrenchpirate @alexandrareviere @mrcorrins by @joshbefresh

An unmeasured cost is still a cost, and AI’s bill is compounding quietly. Get your number before someone else publishes it for you.

Caracas didn’t renovate a dead building, it redesigned around how people already arrive. Serve the behavior that exists, not the one in your deck.

The most advanced attack on record walked through a door a human left open. Scale the hygiene before you scale the tools.

The stadium is becoming a media platform with seats. Stop sponsoring the signage and start designing the experience. Naming rights age. Memories compound.

Engagement just got cheaper to fake and easier to discount. Judge on what you can read: replies, saves, sends, humans.

Instagram just made the archive editable. A post is no longer a moment, it’s inventory. Re-score your best work and let the algorithm read it as new.

Regulation is re-installing parents as the gatekeepers of reach. Court the household, not the handle, and you inherit the generation everyone else just lost. by @joshbefresh

Unsurfaced™ DAILY is our morning pulse on the industries we don’t just watch. We work in them. We buy in them. We play in them. Sometimes it’s AI. Sometimes it’s fashion. Sometimes it’s finance, music, sports, or something nobody’s talking about yet. Either way, it all finds its way into the work.

Pretty sure getting your photo watermarked by atlpics is an Atlanta rite of passage. 😂

Great night at @bmi offices celebrating our family @ayyechic on writing the #1 song in the WORLD, “Swim” by BTS. I’ll never stop saying it but you are truly one of the most deserving people in this world. We’re always and forever so proud of you! 🥂🫶🏽✨ taken in Atlanta, Georgia by @joshbefresh

It was a good day at the office. Clocked in and clocked out in under 2hrs. Free money 💵 🏁

Grateful for my brother @marcus_avery showing up when I needed it at mile 10.5 with the reminder to “Keep Pushing” 🤞🏾. I didn’t know what to expect for my first half marathon. All I knew is I wanted to finish sub 2 and I did.

Hard things don’t get easier, you just learn to do hard better. Set goals and check them off. Rinse n Repeat.

Thankful for all the support and all the well wishes.
