I had the privilege of hosting @queer_dmv_fightclub today. It was awesome to see all these young warriors not just throw down in their respective arts, but community that they've built around it. People from all walks of life celebrated the martial arts lifestyle together and the way that it brings together different communities.
It's important to me that marginalized people have the same opportunities as everyone else. I've always believed in learning to fight not just to defend oneself but those around you. #naceymaceworstnightmare taken in Combat Principles MMA by @joshcpmma

People I think sometimes have an unnatural fear about themselves or their kids being injured doing martial arts.

After teaching martial arts all these years I can say without question that I've seen more injuries in soccer, ⚽ American football 🏈 and playground shenanigans - then I have from jiu-jitsu 🥋.

It's not even close.

Any contacts for it can cause a child to get hurt once in a while. Listen to this great conversation with @joshcpmma
