Celebrating students who put to death worldly labels and came alive in Christ. Celebrating the hunger of a generation going after God. Celebrating friends like @anthonylucarini who served our church by bringing the Word our students needed to hear! Celebrating our youth staff and dream team who showed up to serve and lead our students! by @josheray

Brotherhood is a beautiful thing! Every man needs a table to gather with brothers around in their life for laughter, encouragement, and support. Grateful for this tribe!

We just made it home. We are exhausted but so happy to be home. Thank you all so much for your prayers! We left Cleveland with a lot more information than we had before so we are excited! It’s a lot to unpack for sure but feeling blessed to know there’s light at the end of this tunnel! by @josheray

I wanted to give an update from Cleveland. Emorie did not want her picture taken so I took a picture of the sign outside of her door. I do think that’s pretty cool that they do that for all the rooms that each have their own sign. She had a Meg scan yesterday and then proceeded to have four seizures within a four hour Period. So we are happy with that! She’s now back on her meds. Praise God because those were hard to watch. We will have a pet scan on Monday and then head home Monday evening! Thank you everyone so much for your prayers. It has definitely not been easy being away from friends and family. It has been an isolating trip but also a very successful trip so we will take the win! by @josheray

Jessica and Emorie are headed to Cleveland Clinic for another round of observation and testing to determine the best course of action to get rid of an Encepholocele on top of her brain that is causing seizures. (See my last post back in April for more information on that).

We are asking for your prayers. Prayers that she would have a seizure during these tests so that the medical teams can gather all information they need to determine the best treatment. Prayers for complete healing in the Name of Jesus. Prayers for safe travel and peace over these next several days.

Thank you for being part of Team Em and being our prayer warriors! by @josheray

Jesus refuses to just be an interesting conversation. He demands more of us. He wants us all.

Our phones are discipling us. Social media is discipling us. Success, sports, politics, entertainment… it’s all pulling us in different ways.

We’re drifting into spiritual confusion about who Jesus is. Camp can only provide a spark where family can fan it into flame.

As for us, we are for the one.

“Jesus refuses to just be an interesting conversation.” 🗣️

He is so much more! If we don’t let Jesus disciple us then something else will and it will lead us to spiritual confusion. This is why we need our families and spiritual families to point us back to Him.

Next Gen Weekend was a party 🎊 🎉

What an incredible way to celebrate all the amazing things God has done through @customstudents and @kidscoast !! We love that these ministries aren’t only places where our students find community but they are also places where spiritual family forms 🕊️

“Don’t let anyone think less of you because you are young, be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith and your purity.”

Two weeks ago my Granny Ruby finished her race. Today we all got together and celebrated her life. She lived almost 92 years and she finished well. Here are a few things I’m learning from her as I look back at her legacy.

1. She loved her family. She was a protector, a supporter, and a giver. Her and my Pa James were married for 60 years until he passed. She loved my mom and my uncle unconditionally and she was one of my biggest cheerleaders in ministry.

2. She loved the next generation. She devoted her life to taking care of children in her home, in the community, and in the church. She taught them that Jesus loves them and showed them the joy that comes only from our Heavenly Father.

3. She loved Jesus! Her mind began to deteriorate several years ago. It was hard for her to recall memories and names. Towards the end there wasn’t much she could remember but her relationship with Jesus and His Word never suffered. She never missed a day reading her Bible.

I’m also so proud of my mom who has devoted the last 12 years to being my Granny’s Caretaker. I see it as a sacrifice to not do what a lot of other people her age are doing with their time. My mom would never call it that. She would it say it was her honor to take care of her mom and the Lord has blessed that obedience in so many ways through opportunities to serve and bless those around them while she was taking care of Ruby.

Thank you Granny Ruby for leaving a legacy for your children and your children’s children and their children’s children to walk in. by @josheray

What an incredible move of God that we got to witness through High School Summer Camp! We got to see community form, life change, salvations, and smiles all around us. To the students, we are believing that this is only the beginning and now you get to be the hands and feet of Jesus in your communities and schools. It is your turn to share the goodness of God and be on the lookout FOR THE ONE!!

And to the incredible cabin leaders and staff, we are so, so grateful for each of you. Thank you for taking time out of your summer to pour into our students. We know that each of you have left a powerful impact in their lives. For those of you that are staying for Middle School Summer Camp, we are praying that the Lord gives you strength, joy, and energy as you enter the next set of camp! taken in Charleston, South Carolina by @josheray
